Ya they do do some stuff like that but all of the years I've been on Neopets they've never put this much effort and been literally halfway throguh a plot only to cancel it and laugh in your face. They don't want to loose thousands of players.

Arka was right you have the wrong constellatio, here: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v663/ ... /const.jpg

Sweet I now have it, you guys are awsome thanks!

Drag Them Out
Give crappy prizes
Make the comics repetitive
Abandon some (a.k.a. kreludor...I was so smurf after I bought neocola tokens and got a battle set ready and then they said they were cancelling it)

As I said, I didn't remember any major April Fools Day stuff outside the news, but I'm not saying it hasn't happened.

As for what you say about plots, there are reasons for them being drawn out (so they're not all finished in the space of a week, and because there is more to do on the site than just updating plots). I also don't agree about the prizes - I actually happen to like all of the prizes I've gotten from plots, and don't find any of them crappy. I've also never seen a repetitive comic, and enjoy them all thoroughly.

And finally, I know everyone was so overjoyed at the thought of another stupid boring Dr Sloth plot (can't you tell I'm his hugest fan and was so greatly hanging out to see what would happen), but TNT obviously had their reasons for pulling the plot. It doesn't mean they weren't taking it seriously, or that they don't take any of their plots seriously.

Honestly, given the amount of work they generally put into their plots, I'd say that most of the time, they take the plots more seriously than the rest of the site.

Anyway, this is all just my opinion AND is now entirely off-topic and defensive over something that I didn't want to get defensive about. I mean, April Fools Day is meant to be fun... not something that causes arguments over whether or not TNT is taking this plot seriously.

Sigh.

You are correct- the Dancer constellation has not yet been confirmed, just wildly speculated about.

A couple years ago I logged in on April 1 and discovered that my SDB and bank account had been emptied, supposedly as a Random Event. I sent a message complaining that that was too much and felt sheepish later on when it came out that it was April Fool's.

I can't come up with a formation in those ceiling jewels that would make a perfect hexagon though, but maybe someone else had better luck.

As has been said, the gems are streched on the X axis, so there would be that gap, but the star gap is even bigger than that.

What do you mean by "stretched on the X axis"? I saw no indication of any stretching of the gems versus the actual constellations on the Dreamer or Sleeper. I did not measure them precisely, but the Dreamer and Sleeper gems look proportionately exact to their telescope counterparts with no skewing. Likewise, the stars people are indicating as the Dancer seem to match this pattern in the jewels. Again, I'd be happy to join the con's if a better pattern could be made from these jewels.

Hmmm, from this, it does look like the gems are stretched, though the stretching is on the Y-axis. I guess we shall see in due time, but I do find the elegance of the proposed solution to be quite intriguing.

Aside from the addition of stars from the map expansion, has anyone noticed whether the stars in their Dreamer map changed versus their Sleeper map?

Arka, it didn't happen to me but I remember the news article. I could dig it up...hold on..."The Pant Devil has struck again - doh! He has chosen a select few people on the site and totally stolen all their items.... if it's happened to you, why not get some revenge in the Battledome!!!" April 1st, 2002...Good times...good times....when h400 helmets were under 1 mil..sigh
Oooo Heres the one from three years ago. Everyone in my school logged onto Neopets and freaked out http://www.neopets.com/index_fake.phtml
And I just noticed that in 2004 they had april fool's stuff in the gallery and in 2005 they didn't even mention it.

Sigh.

If I knew that my original post was going to start an off-topic conversation about what did and didn't happen on April Fools Day, then I wouldn't have said anything.

The point of my post, for all of those who missed was that I didn't think TNT would incorporate their April Fools Day joke into the plot.

That's it. Enough said. End of April Fools Day conversation in this thread.

    Yay! 300th post!
For all of those feeling particularly smurfed about something, go check out the Neocam.

Wow! A smurf ing smurf! :o It's so smurf ingly smurf y
Anyway, back on topic. Every time I find my constellation its guide template thing is released on the star mapper. That's my plot luck >_<

Hey, can you do one of these pics for the Dreamer constellation. After you did this one, I had a more precise look at the Dreamer constellation versus the Dreamer gems and it appears the Dreamer gems stretch in the opposite direction (along the X) from the Sleeper gems (along the Y). If that is true, that means the relationship between gems and constellation is inconsistent, making them kind of useless. Maybe this was done to prevent template-making.

That looks pretty good...but any way you can put in the star marks under the transparency of the dreamer? The ones that actually see when you look through your telescope?

Fri Mar 31, 2006 10:31 pm

Oops, I didn't refresh so I missed your post and ended up doing one too. (Hate duplicating effort.) But many thanks to you.

Some startling developments from this. Looks like both Sleeper and Dreamer are stretched along X and along Y - and the stretching may be consistent between pics. The amount of stretching along X and along Y can be mathematically determined, and, if they match between both Sleeper and Dreamer, using those multiples, I should be able to finally determine whether the proposed Dancer really matches up with those six gems which I think will be the Dancer (since there don't seem to be any alternative gem sets that fit the bill). I just hope there really is a method to the stretching madness.

I'll report back in a little while with any conclusions. (Have to go and do some cooking now.)

I need help finding my second constellation, I think I've found it in the bottome right corner, with one purple, one yellow and a single red; however, I always get that it is inncorrect. Can someone help me out?
