It is not too late to get started on the plot. The janitors button does not come up but, if you just add &push_button=1 to the end of the URL when you are on the janitor's page you will get the info that is needed to continue. I know this works because I just did it on my daughter's account.

*sighs*

Found my dreamer after a little bit of work. Used the thingymajic that someone has in their siggy for finding the dreamer. Had a couple false starts, but found it. I was slightly annoyed because twice I found places that almost mathched-but were ONE star off. X_x

I got a friend that was not doing the plot to try the same thing and the continue button dumped out to the full altador map and did not activate the lenny and book. I think some servers are out of sync with a bug again.

^This is what mine looked like on the mapper (I drew the lines myself in Paint)

and This (below) is what it looked like in the telescope when I found it:

maybe that will help you as far as looking at the proportions of the stars.

Also, I am interested to know- does everyone have the same COLOR stars in their thingy? like, I have a red at the left, and the rest are all white. I also have one star in the way of my bottom one.... since the random stars are different for everyone, do you have that "in the way" star or is that just me?

Finally, I found that looking for PARTS of the shape to start with, then checking for the rest, helped me... I looked for the wide v-shape. I really did not find tons of stars that made that wide v-shape like that. when I did find a threesome in a wide V, i checked on the right hand side of the v to see if there was a star directly above the right-hand star, and a star making a line farther below the right-hand star.

Using this group-check method I found two likely areas and the second one was the constellation!

Man, this pattern is harder for my eyes to pick out than the nice straight lines of the first const. I finally found mine, and my daughter's (she needed help ;) she's eight), using the Excel method from farside's excellent explanation.

To get the data into Excel, I followed instructions I dimly remembered from an earlier split (too tired and cranky to go find it, so if it's you I'm trying to credit here, please yell!) -- copy and paste from the stardata page to Word, search and replace all | with ^p and all , with ^t.

Then copy and paste that tab-delimited data to Excel. Select all, click on the B at the top of the middle column, and click the Sort button. Then follow farside's directions. Worked like a charm, in less than 10 minutes each time.

Thank you!!!
