You could repeatedly take screenies of the different views, moved over little by little, and then compile an image. That would probably be much easier. That was the way people did it before darkfire's map generator.

So we have to get BOTH skys mapped?

dont know if we HAVE to do so, but it's the only thing I can think of doing by now, as there's definitly nothing to find in the first one, and we have to map the second to search if there's anything more there.... even if the few who did it did not report anything better in the second one...

WHY are we still trying to do this plot, it's driving me mad!!!!!! I'm seeing series of numbers everywhere!!!!!!

Aye guys I havnt maped nor plan to, but I was thinking, has anyone tried making a trasnperancy copy of the second set of stars and over laping it with the first to see if any formations are shared? If so then that would be a BIG clue..

*shrugs.*Just a thought.

I remember far before someone saying he tried to do so, I dont remember exactly how, but I think he find out that there was about 20 stars that where almost the same, but I dont remember where I have seen that, so I suppose we'll have to wait until someone try again

In the same line of thinking, anybody had worked on more than one people skys? I dont know, but it will be a BIG clue if everybody have one identical star somewhere, or at least everybody who found the oil on the same statue or something like that.

Anybody feels like trying?

I scaled the image embedded in the Flash file and superimposed both maps in Photoshop last night, reduced opacity, to see if I could find anything (note the images aren't meant to line up, but I wanted them all there to see if I could spot anything). Nothing that I can see, though.

But I also just realized that my map is/was still at 50%? So maybe I should try that again. Either way, I can't see any constellations that fit.

Has anyone tried superimposing the constellation images on top of the blue gems? That seems like the next logical step.

Sorry it took me so long to post (had to read threads to make sure it had not already been discussed).

I got my second STAR DATA info at 3:03pm NST and when I refreshed at 3:05pm NST got this:

Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in

/home/neopets/public_html/altador/astro.phtml on line 337

I continued to refresh got my original data again at 3:08pm NST then refreshed one more time (for the heck of it) and got my second data again!
I saved second DATA to notepad (including that "fatal error") and then mapped it immediately.

With just a quick glance the maps DO appear significantly different and I DO have what appears to be the equivalent of the Sasha glyph (Blue line drawing) on my SECOND data map.

Went to the observatory and still had second data field of view! (was happy about this)

However can only find HALF of the Sasha glyph constellation on my field of view in comparison to the mapped second data. It is towards the edge of the field of view (that is 340 on the axis) even though stars appear within the field of view have co-ordinates that include: 474, -324 and 500, -170.

Am currently looking at both DATA maps to see if any correlation can be made.

NOTE: When comparing your data maps to your field of view(neopets telescope) remember to DOUBLE the distance between stars from the data map to the field of view <--- it took me a while to realise this and when I did that is when I spotted the possible "half constellation"

that's interesting because I am now seeing my second map for the first time, got it at 4:00pm neopets time I think it is (7pm eastern) and I have a constellation that closely resembles Sasha's. It's off to the far right of my map but two red stars are cut off in my telescope so I can't match anything. It's a little off so it may not be that constellation and I may be grasping at straws here, I don't know!

I also only have 5 purple stars on my second map so nothing can be made with those. I just wish I knew what to do with it!

EDIT: Second map is now gone (luckily i tried it in another browser so I still have it open in the other) so it last for 30 minutes, from 4:00-4:30 nepets time

Can anyone take their two maps and then somehow form them into a sphere by warping them both into a "dome" shape and attaching them? Just a thought that it might help with perspective but I am not this artistically inclined.

Somehow, doubling my map size does not help my eyes see anything different. I have been searching for the two constellations I assumed the easiest to spot (Sleeper and Sasha, 6 dots in a V shape or 6 in a round shape) and I still cannot find anything, even though I was searching for overlapped things.

I've tried doing this pop out thing in paint but it only crashes my ms paint and I've tried it more then once if anyone has gif versions or whatever versions of the gemstone popped out images I'd love if you'd be as kind to share em with me since someone said they were the same for everyone or I can screen shot what I got above my statues.. I ain't really the best with paint programs since mine like to give me the "blue screen of death" whenever I try to do anything in them.. I don't get more memory for mine till my birthday in may till then I am way scr*** and then some ifn ya know what I mean? To those trying to give me proper direction in pm's this dyslexic thanks you gratefully.

As far as I know, using only one colour to map, may only be theory. If anyone knows for sure please let us know :)
