For anyone not able to get to darkfire's jpg, these are on the forum on list#8...I think. Someone pasted the images to the board itself for everyone to see. I'll go look up the exact page#
OK, my bad---It's plot split #9 on the 7th page. And by the way, that split was really long (mostly because people were up all night long) And it has some REALLY GREAT information and speculations. If any of you have not read the previous split...I would recommend skimming through the 20 pages.
Didn't you think that once we have "discovered" one of these constellations, that the overlay image would remain in our sky? I'd really like that idea.

Sorry to sound picky but the reason I requested coordinates along two axis was because I printed my starmap and I'm using that along with prints of the gems to try to find constellations. Once I've found a candidate I go back to the telescope but it's then very difficult to locate the correct stars.
It's still a million times easier than using the telescope alone though!

I have been searching for a constalation, but now my telescope won't load and http://www.neopets.com/altador/astro.ph ... tar_data=1 is blank for me. Any ideas why?

Me too - Me and my boyfriend have been sat plotting the constellations for nearly two hours, and then we loaded the telescope and found that the star map has changed! I can't believe it...so dissapointed.
Also I can't recheck my get_star because it will not load!

You have to use the automapper that darkfire made, and go to the get_star_data link. But as some people above said, the link dosn't seem to be working... The link to the automapper is in the first post.
That happened to me eariler, than it started working agian. So give it some time.

Don't woprry, I think it's just down to lag. I had to refresh the window a few times before it worked for me. Just keep trying, and you'll eventually get it.

Well, first of, hello to all. I've been lurking the board since the LDP and I've been following everyone's posts about Altador, without having discovered anything myself.
But since brekky posted this petpage (http://www.neopets.com/~Shabina#statues) in the first or second page of this split, I've came up with an idea.
In each TCG card that you can find in the page above you'll see the correspondent constelation. My idea is, if you look at the stars that you'll find above each statue, you can try to find the constelation. Something like this http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v254/Lady_Morticcia/12_king_altadorA.jpg. And then try to find in your star map a group of stars that look similar to those found above the statue and try to fit the constelation in it. I've been trying with the constelation from the first statue, Jerdana, since it has six stars. No luck yet. I tried with the Darkest Faerie constelation, also because it has six stars and it seems easy to find.... still no luck I just think it would be something worth trying...

That's what I've been doing, too. I thought I found a couple of sets that matched, but I wasn't able to get my tele to load either to experiment. I think too many people are playing right now. I can wait.
Gives me time to line up more constellations...and I guess eat. hehe
I remember someone listing a petpage that had some great graphics for those who are not used to seeing stars. It had evil somewhere in the name. I didn't save the page, but I did copy and paste some of the graphics to compare with what I had already come up with. He/She used the TCG cards with an overlay of the gems in the ceiling. While most of what he came up with I agree with, some, I think, are not quite right. But, at least it is a great starting point.
Ok, can't yet get the image to work. I'll keep trying.

Nothing...that has to be one of the most confusing script... well probably not but it's not something you can figure out by just skimming over it and I honestly don't feel like wrestling with it. The overlay bit tickled me...slightly... not really enough to be noticed. So...nope
