Darkfire, great work on the mapping

I have a couple suggestions to make it better:
1. have an option for people to save a picture of the file.
2. option to turn on off x and y axis
3. option to label points with cordinates
4. ....

If you want help I think it would be great if you released your fla file so those of us that have some programming skill can add features to it.

This is not criticism at all. By no means does anyone expect you to do this.

Thanks for the work!

edit (By the way where are the mods? we were suppose to split 9 pages ago)

I screenied my whole sky.
Then I printed all screenies and cut out the circles. I can't do it this way because there is way to much overlap. How did you all do it?

Hmm, mine wasn't loading either but then I noticed in the bottom left hand corner of the page where it says 'done' there was the yellow ! symbol, so I kept refreshing and reloading until that disappeared and it was my normal IE icon and then it loaded in a minute.

Few questions:

Does the sky rotate because I know it moves?

And did you use this unrotated map to map the constellations?

Booya! Open source all the way!
:D
For those of you with l33t programming *cough* skillz the .fla file is at:
http://www.boomspeed.com/zaniam/theSky.fla

Enjoy! (This was my first flash anything so I'm pretty sure improvements can be made... oh and don't flame me cause I'll be the first to admit I'm not the most elegant of programmers.)

It moves? How often? I haven't noticed it moving at all. Everytime I click it, my stars line up with what I mapped.

I'm pretty sure the star maps change. I already have atleast two different maps. My map is different now that it was an hour ago, i'm sure of that.

Good morning? afternoon? whatever.

OK, I'd mapped my stars and just opened the image. Seems I was really tired, I'd not merged a couple of layers, so now my map's kind of useless.

Darkfire, it is really nice of you. Unfortunately, I can't get my data to "paste" in the white box on the boomspeed page. I copy from notepad, go to the page, click Edit and nothing is highlighted. So, I just started to type some of the number in to see what would happen. They were all coming out in a straight line done the page. Don't know if it's my computer or what. I tried it both on FF and IE, same non-results. No copy and paste function :(

Guess it's back to screenshot, crop, sharpen, resize, layer ... rinse, repeat.

Oh, one thing I did notice last night. If you leave the telescope and go back later, the number at the beginning of the url to load the page changes. Don't know if this means anything or now.

I was hoping this would be, as they said in the Editorial, a MINOR plot. All this mapping and guessing is not minor to me!

Okay. This is darn annoying. I asked my friends if they saw the gem-form in the map and they instantly noticed that many stars are not on the flash! (but still they are in coordinates AND on my tele.) O_____O

for example -1,400 is missing and so are -2,296 -220,222

I'm SO FRUSTRATED TO HAVE LOOKED AT AN UNWHOLE MAP FOR TWELVE DAMN HOURS!!!
