Anyone else finding it impossible to start the plot at this point??? I've tried doing several of the things in the directions and I'm not finding any clickable book and no telescope to advertise for the club that has to be joined....I just want to start playing

If someone figures out why I can't seem to get any of the early steps to work, please either neomail or email me at the same username as I use here. Greatly appreciated.... I don't get why they would close this plot, seems highly unlikely so I hope I'm just doing something wrong.

Uh...what exactly have you done so far? Be specific.

But uh, in the Constellation function there are 12 objects. I bet those are related to the 12 constellations....

*glances around* Okay, no one's around at work, so I'm going to play with this theory for a bit.....

It's probably a bannable offense, but I guess, for you, it all depends on how strong PPT's privacy policy is in practice. :P

Well, uh.....I'm guessing since looking at HTML code is okay, this would be too....since lots of people have Flash decompilers....I mean, I don't really think I'm getting a lot of help from it. I don't know actionscript that well, so basically all I get out of it is...not much.

Yeah, well, *ahem*, let's see if this worked.

Uh, I really feel pretty silly asking this, but how do you take a "screenie"? I kept thinking that if re-read the how-tos already posted that I'd be able to figure this out...but I'm not. So, I'm all in for making my map tonight/morning, but can't seem to get how to take the shot so I can paste it somewhere. And where/what program works the best?

I tried all of those to no avail :( Oh well, thanks anyway :D

Haha, good argument (though I wouldn't be the one you'd be arguing to). Anyway, let us know how you progress.

This is my first plot, so don't be to harh. at least at this point.

So far I've been awake for only two hours (11am) and the view from the telescope or the star coordinates have not changed.

I have 274 star coordinates.
Does everyone have this number or does it vary also. Does the amount of coordinates change too, or just the coordinates themselves?
As I put them in line I noticed they were in order, starting from -1 to -9 and then from 1 to 9.
I am now putting them in order by the colour and see if that makes any sence.
I am also putting them on mm-paper, so I can easily see if they form anything. (and later I can put the new coordinates to the same paper. That way I can easily see the differences.)

(While writing this they both changed. between 12.50 and 12.55 NST. I would have assumed they'd change on the hour. O_o)
Maybe we are supposed to find one every time, but if it changes for example once every two hours how people would be able to sleep. (So I'll overrule that myself.)

Well. Now I'm off to find out the answer to some of my own questions. o/

EDIT

Okay. NOW I'm confused. the coordinates changed AGAIN.
But, they are the same as they were the first time. O_o
This happened to anyone? (and why is it changing now so often as it was the same for over two hours >_>)

There are free screen capture utilities you can try. I've tried this one before and it works well.

Of course, check with a grown-up first before installing anything.

Well, so far, I've learned is they take that star location file thingie, look for undefined things (which sorta seems like everything at this point) and if it's defined to do something I can't figure out....

Oh, I know that TNT does take a gander at this place now and then, if this is not allowed, lemme know somehow and I'll stop...and BTW, saying "DONT_PASS_ANYTHING" when passing it, kinda funny.....

Anyways, like I said, I'm a Java/C++ girl. I don't know ActionScript that well. So I doubt I learned anything useful/relevent that can auctually help us out :).

That being said, I need more coffee....I have two more hours of work, and I'm sleeeeepy.

Yeah, Neopets foresaw this sort of thing and put the verification part on the server (kind of common practice for them). There are a few interesting parts still left in the code though (or so I hear  ), but I don't know if they'll bear any fruit. And they could always throw in extra pics to send people on wild goose chases, though I doubt they did that here.

Hmmm, I figured that was what happened (about the server verification). That would explain why some of their games have bare minimum code in them (my friend looked at that a few years back, when trying to learn action script).

There are some interesting pieces in this code. Only two I found somewhat useful. The aforementioned constellation function and the one where they pass in the star locations. But, the relating code (since the code abstracts in both cases) isn't included, at least from what I can tell. Which means it's essentially meaningless at this point to look much further, so unless I gain access to all the code (which would mean I would have to work for them, and then I wouldn't be trying to figure this out, now would I?), which is highly unlikely. I declare myself done with this swf file........until it's updated (barring a cease and desist order).

The pictures, on the other hand, seem to not include any extra thingies. I suspect the previously found pictures will become permanent once "discovered" properly when viewing the stars, or when being found.

As for wild goose chases....hmmm.... I'm having a fairly easy-going semester, comes with the territory of being a semester or two away from my degree, so I have the time :).

This is a very confusing plot, I've just finished reading this thread...:P I have an idea, not sure if it will work but it may be worth a try. I'm sure most people have now seen the TCG cards relating to the statues, well, there are bright stars on those, and, some with 6 points. Perhaps you have to find the constellations from the TCG cards in your stars, as there are some cards with 6 stars. I am not sure if this will work but perhaps it is worth a try?

I doubt we can get much done for now anyway, the plot hasn't *officially* started, as TNT haven't announced anything.

I agree! And that will be so cool to see all of the drawn pictures over the stars.

Someone also mentioned, somewhere, sometime...what was I saying? Oh yeah, they thought we might need to figure out some sort of puzzle for coordinates to help "discover" the constellations. That might explain why many of what we think are the actual constellations are not found yet. Then again, maybe we just haven't found any.

I'll be giving it one more try to map the sky. Cross your fingers and wish me luck!! or maybe even send direct 1,2,3 type steps so I don't keep screwing things up. *glances around hopefully, with stars in eyes* :D
