Are you guys sure about that stardata page? I just refreshed my Telescope to test and then went to the stardata page, didn't move anything on the Telescope page, and the stardata is different every refresh.

Edit: Okay not every refresh but mine changes. o_O

The easiest way to find out if the text coordinates are accurate is to check if the coordinates really lead to actual stars.

I found out where those 12 glyphs I linked came from. They are pictures embedded in the telescope flash applet.

I'm almost tempted to pull an all-nighter just to figure this out. I hope I'm not the only person crazy enough to be considering it...

Ok, so now it's 1:55am. hehe. And yeah, I might just be crazy enough to stay up all night with you  My daughter saw me online earlier and I made the horrible mistake of saying the astronomy club was open! Yikes! I sent her to bed around midnight. So, I've only had a few hours of quiet thinking time...morning will be chaos around here!! Everyone will want to get online and play! Sooo, might as well do my playing tonight and sleep in tomorrow!!

Haha, I know what you mean... thank goodness I'm not the only one (crazy enough) to stay up all night. :P

Anjuna, as for that refreshing of the star data... I'm not sure if the coordinates change or not, but that's why I'm not refreshing it, haha. Perhaps you think the coordinates change, but maybe they just jumble the order so it's the same coordinates but not in the same order as before?

I would almost think that if TNT made it so the star coordinates changed every time you went, it would make it too difficult to find whatever constellation you were searching for.

Anyway, I want to keep it as is. I've also kept the same window open for my telescope & sky.

Exactly, it seems like a "per session" thing. Making it very difficult to sit down and map out anything at any given time.

Edit: And I just seached for differences. I see no pattern or repetition.

I just had to join...if only for the help I've gotten here...I hope that I can help out down the road here(as I have played "the darkest faerie" numerous times) and maybe I have some hidden nugget that may help...who knows...

I am assuming that TNT is pretending that stars don't "move" over the course of one thousand years...

Of course not! It's TNT. They have complete control over all powers of science and logic in their worlds. :P

Shar-whatt? That's probably one of the most important pieces of information right there. Nice find. :D

umm, right off the bat, I can see what looks like the Gladiator's shield. Anyway you could tell me how I might copy & paste your map and circle the few stars that I'm thinking of?

Well I definitely have been getting two different points of view starting my Telescope (and two star_data variances). Refreshing several times a minute, the past few minutes. Either a glitch or there is something more to this than meets the eye. A front and a back view maybe? Would that make the map dome-shaped instead of flat? o_O

I've also clicked things I'm certain were constellations, but it didn't work.

And dbry222, while stellar drift does occur, it doesn't affect constellations as much as one might think. Earth's constellations are pretty much similar to what they were 3,000 some years ago when we (as in humans) first named ours, they will probably still look very similar 50,000 years from now (With some changes, for instance, the dipper handles might be a tad more bent). This has to do because they are so far away (and so goes on the science which is probably too boring/long to post here, this is afterall, not Astronomy 100 ;)).

So, that's a very long way of saying, in Altadorian time, the constellations are probably very very similar to the gems, are are therefore still valid.

My thoughts overall: We might need to do some puzzle thingie in order to submit stars, who knows they might give us the auctual co-ordinates.

edit: leaving our the word "might" kinda changes meaning of the last part of this post....

I put up some images from the swf file that I guess will come up when we find a constellation. Maybe they can be used to overlay on the stars? I know these are from the tcg cards but I hadn't seen them separate from the cards before.
