Dolphinling, you are a genius of evil proportions.

I have read on some earlier boards and posts that some of you think that the tcg cards have something to do with the plot.

Do you really think TNT will incorporate something that not everyone might have access to?

I don't know if it is still a theory but I don't think that is the case. Just wondering.

Agree. They won't do something we can't all access! That'd be unfair, and make a lot of people upset.

As for the posts on the previous page that this is going to turn into a war....TNT announced it would NOT be a war, and the next war would have something to do with Sophie the Witch. Now, I'm not sure if there's a connection between Altador and Sophie, so if there is, could someone crash-course us all???

TCG cards are available on-line for everyone. There is NO NEED to buy them. Poke around The Neopian Bazaar. As for a guide, check my last post!

Yeah, I'm new to the boards, and this is the first plot I'm actually attempting to go through from the beginning. Anyway, I thought this was really obvious, but I haven't heard anyone say it yet... Has anyone taken into account the number in the URL for each statue? For example, King Altador is number 12, while common logic, seeing him as the biggest (and top) statue, would imagine him as being number 1.
This has got to be an old idea by now, but it reminds me of the face of a clock.

Heh, what about altor (foster-father, nourisher)? This would make sense if a lot of the knowledge/philsophies/reasons for things are passed on from the Altadorians.

I've got a question.
Why is there so much theorizing about TNT's hiding Latin messages in the name, when it wasn't even originally called Altador?

It's more fun than working on the plot updates posted today.

Because right now, theres nothing else to discuss? We all know it means nothing, might not even be anything to do with the choice of names - but until we get something new to do we might as well discuss TNTs use of the greatest language ever spoken.

Okay, okay. I may be going out on a limb here, but I honestly seriously do not think that the name of the place has anything to do with the plot. I mean, we didn't spend a fair chunk of 5 threads wondering over the meaning of Maraqua or trying to work out how the Lost Desert could be called "lost" now that it's been found.

That being said, for simplicity's sake, I would hazard a guess that Altador was name after its king, who was more than likely given that name by his parents - and I sorta doubt that they were overly concerned of the meaning of his name.

Because there was some sort of reason WHY they changed it to Altador. =P Maybe it became Altador so it DID have some sort of meaning.

Or just because it sounded cooler. XD

You've got a point.

Hm... maybe it's not the "alta" part of the name, but the "dor" that's important.
I'm going to go start looking for a door that might be significant later on.

It could be entering a code found on site like the Grundo Warehouse Av.

Yeah, I saw this a few threads back I think (or maybe it was just the last one). Has anyone ruled this in or out?

I think the clock method was easiest for them to do as it made most sense (it would be weird to see all the numbers on a clock shifted anti clockwise ;)) and they might incorporate this later on somewhere.. :)

I don't know what other connection there is, but the 12 Protectors of Altador are very similar to the 12 Olympian Gods. They are even split up into 6 males and 6 females just like the Olympians.

Also, I've decided that Altador translates roughly to "Golden Height/Elevation". Alta is Latin for high/elevated. Dore is possibly Golden. There was also an ancient city named Dor and that name seems to have some correspondence to "dwelling/habitation."

Just my thoughts.

Sorry, dor doesn't mean gold. Aureus means gold in Latin and to be precise, alta means high, or deep.

EDIT: Oops, didn't see that someone had already corrected that!

I'd say something witty if I could. But we can't always be so smooth.
