NOTE TO EVERYONE: Remember, the taskbar takes up room of your wallpaper, so don't add to much detail on the bottom, or add text, as it'll be covered up. A good way to measure is to take a screenshot of your desktop, and then crop it to not include the sidebar. For instance, on my computer (800x600 Windows ME), it would be an 800x572. :)

Rachel - It's pretty simple, but sometimes, simple is good. However, I don't realy like the colouring of the buildings - reminds me of .gif discolouration in Paint. :\ The outline is nice, and the blurriness adds a nice touch.

Dawn - Everytime I see the white, I think it's smaller than it is. Ehe. But, the shadowed text is kind of distracting, so I would tone down the opacity to maybe lower than 50%. Also, I don't really like the font you used for "Zooropa". I think it would've looked better with something like Century Gothic or Coolvetica.

Neko - Two minutes, eh? Looks more like two hours. You did a very nice job of resizing the image to fit the screen, but I think reisizing it up caused a couple of pixel problems. http://i1.tinypic.com/rssvia.jpg -- I've circled them, but it's a bit hard to see. Sorry about the JPG compression. Still learning how to use the GIMP on Linspire. But, I don't see any other problems, except maybe the blur on the image. A little annoying.

Marissa - I think saving it in JPG killed it a little, there's a few artifacts like around the text and the girl. But, you did a very good job of getting rid of the artifacts on the images. :) It's simplicity is wonderful. I'm pretty speechless. :)

Nikita - Sorry to hear that. :( Hope to see you next PPTTG. ^^

Medli - MATTIE WEST. :D I see room for icons, but some people may not. You have the left of his body, and then the right of his head. It's a good wallpaper for people who don't have many icons, like me. :) I love the swirl brushes, but the grid doesn't look to swell on him. Also, the font you used for "It's like you're", "right infront of me" and "I'm reaching out...but you can't see" looks rather pixelly, like it's not anti-aliased. I WANT YOUR BACKGROUND SKILLS But, Mattie West is too pale. :(

stinkyllama - No eye twitching, OK? I love it. The background's amazing, and the image colouring is great. But, the second image looks, as I call it, JPG ravaged. That's partly because you had to resize it up. Little trick - when resizing up, use the Edge Preserving Smooth. I believe there's also some sort of JPG Artifact Remover on PS 7, but I'm not sure.

Ken - *points at little note* There's a few white pixels near the Kau's hair, and the plushie looks a bit pixelly. But, aside from that, don't see many problems. There's plenty of room for icons, though. o_o For someone like me, it'd be hard for me to fill up the space. (This gives you a good idea of how many icons I usually have)

Kiay - I absolutely love it. But, the red is a little annoying, as Rikio said. If they were colourized black, it would've gone better with the darkness.

Amethyst - I don't believe I've seen too many Vector wallpapers. If you want me to, I think I may be able to fix them for you. :) Although, on the sparkles. They should've been fainter, further spread out, and part of the whole desktop, and the background makes her hair extremely hard to see. Also, I believe there's a bit of red on her neck strap that keeps catching my eye.

LAQ - The background's rather...*after fifteen different spelling attempts* intriguing. I think I spelt that right. Anyway, in my opinion, there's too much blue. I would've liked more purple, but that's just me.

Moogie - Rikio makes a good point. The fading out on her face looks a little bad. If it had been closer to hair, it would've made a big difference. Also, the black background is really helpful for people using Windows 95 up to Windows 2000, as they don't have the clear icon option like XP, and that makes majourity of desktops looks ugly. <_<

Iath-em - It reminds me a bit of the artwork for Relient K's Apathetic EP for some reason. Anyway, I really like it. It's very fancy, but the clouds don't go too well, and I believe if the stripes were at anywhere from 50%-80% opacity, you would be able to focus on the whole thing, rather than just them, or atleast, that's what my eye catches.

Rachel, Amethyst and Medli. Sorry guys. :(

WIS, Iath-em isn't in your list. ;)

My thoughts are two or three, but then again...I'm not Flame. :P

Hey guys! :D First time rating.. lets hope my ratings are okay.

Rachel - I like the colors on this, very vivid and bright. However, I don't like how you made the buildings look smudged. It looks inconsistent with the water.
I think the stroke around the buildings would have been better as a soft glow.

Bangel - Hoorah, U2! I really like the bright flame that shoots out of the airplane.
The text is placed perfectly, it makes U2 stand out from the rest of the wallpaper. The font in the background doesn't seem to fit very well.

Neko - This wallpaper is very pretty and dreamy looking. The colors harmonize very well with each other.
The only part that bugs me a little is the bright text. It doesn't fit with the pastel colors, so I'm assuming you put the text on overlay mode?
I think it would have been better as white text, at a low opacity.

Marissa - You put in the sky very well. The whole thing looks like it is just one picture. The only thing that I can find wrong is the text, it looks engraved in the sky.
I think it would have been better without the extra blending modes.

Kitten Medli - The background really strikes me, I love the swirls on it. I don't see any room for icons. However the hearts in the upper right corner are unnecessary
and I don't like how you put a blue overlay over the guy. He looks too pale!

Stinkyllama - I love the faded, grunge look in this wallpaper. The colours of the Weezer pictures go together with the blue background.
The lines connecting the pictures don't match the teal colour of that section of the wallpaper though.

Ken - The pictures you used all fit the scheme very well. But I don't feel you followed the rule to use atleast two colours. I feel orange is the dominant colour.
I think you could have added something in the right to fill up a little space.

kiay - I like how this wallpaper looks like it was done in Painter. The dark colours look beautiful together.
I think you could have gotten rid of the red tints on the birds though.

Amethyst - You painted the girl beautifully. However the choice of background colour matches with her hair.
The sparkles you added don't really go with the scheme and should have been spreaded out.

LAQ - The background is beautiful, but it distracts too much from the girl. There is a lot of blank space which could have been filled up.
The text could have been a bit higher, as the taskbar can take a bit of room.

Moogie - I love how the glasses and Liv's dress pop out. I think the black space is a good size but I wish the fading didn't start out from her face.

Iath-em - This wallpaper is really eyecatching. I think the stripes could have been toned down a little because they are very bright. The clouds, as cute as they are (^0^),
don't really match the realism of the wallpaper.

I vote out Rachel, Kitten Medli, and Amethyst. Sorry guys!

Rachel - Cool idea. I really like it. A couple of things bother me though. First, the sky looks kind of plain next to all the color and depth in the buildings. Second, the realistic water does not match with the rest of the posterized picture. Finally, the roof of the boathouse really bothers me. The irregularities in the color doesn't fit. 6.5

Bangel - The flare is a bit too bright in my opinion, but nice extension and I like the text. 7.5

Neko - Hrmmm... the text REALLY stands out. Otherwise not bad. 7

Marissa - If nothing else I give you credit for bothering to cut out her hair, not to mention all of the trees. :P Seriously, it is a very nice merge. It looks seamless. 8

Kitten Medli - Cool pic, but rather busy for a wallpaper (without having any real place for the icons) The hearts seem out of place, and the corner cutouts are unnecessary in this application. 6.5

Stinkyllama - Personally, I am not as much a fan of this piece; it seems a bit rough looking to me. My personal preference aside, the concept is good although the bottom left inset picture is pixellated. If image quality is low to start with, perhaps find another source or at least smooth theh edges a bit with a very light blur or smudge tool (careful - a little can go a long way) 7.5

Ken - Cleanly done, if perhaps a bit plain looking. Very functional with that large area to the left for icons. My biggest complaint (trying to word this right) is the design you used to fill the empty area. Whether you used a small brush or perhaps pattern on that area, it seems as if you used a pattern designed for a small area and simply stretched it out to make the 800x600. I repeating pattern or larger probably would have looked better. (I hope that made sense to you.) 7

kiay - I agree that the birds would look better without the red. Very nice overall efffect, although I'm curious how the image would look with a lighter sky, especially on that right hand side. The image just doesn't have enough contrast there. 8

Amethyst - After all I've said this competition about not liking the darker projects, I'm about to eat my words. I REALLY like this piece. Very nice result considering the source image. I really enjoy the drawn feel it has. Minor cutout issues on the neckband of her top. The stars through her hair is another issue, more for realism principles. Very impressive piece overall. 8.5

LAQ - Without wanting to parrot previous judges, I agree the background is a bit too busy,; there is a lot of empty areas; the text is probably too low (unless you use a mac :P) 7

Moogie - Very cool idea. I'd like to see more of Liv's face - start the black stripes over farther or move her to the right. I also don't like the orange in her dress top over her shoulder. Other than that, I like this piece alot. 8

Iath-em - Very nice creation. It reminds me of Smashing Pumpkins' Tonight Tonight/Melon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. However, considering the way the clouds are drop shadowed to give a 3-d feel, I'd like to see more depth in the lower half of the image (such as the /tree and tower). 8

I vote out Rachel, Kitten Medli, and Ken. [Tie decided by previous round performance]

About the text placement thing: I have my taskbar hidden when there's it's not active, and I forgot that that's a setting most people don't use.

To clarify ('cause I think all the judges commented about this), the girl's hair is supposed to fade into the background.

Well.. bye-bye! I'll be back. :P

By the way... now that I look back on it I guess the hearts were stupid, but for some reason I thought they fit, and I did it early on possibly before the swirlies. I couldn't have erased them (easily) when I was done anyways, so.. I did the corner stuff because when I copied the guy onto the already started background, a slice of his arm was missing. I tried to fix it, but I would have had to put him on again, and I didn't wanna. About the paleness.. I thought it was cool. o_o I'm into that bright neat stuff I guess.
