Well it was originally named Talador, so...
But Neopets changed the name for a reason, and it's officially known as Altador. So perhaps they changed it to Altador to fit the story better and maybe I'm on to something.
Or maybe I'm just coming up with crazy connections. Who knows! The point is, we must hypothesize and try to figure things out. So I repeat myself, since my post was at the bottom of the first page and I'm not sure if anyone else caught it:
"I've seen it mentioned a few times about the statue at the bottom of Maraqua. (

If I recall correctly, it's been sitting there for a long time. (It was added by TNT probably about six months ago or so.) What I'm wondering, what is the connection between the ruins of Maraqua and the discovery of Altador?
Altador seems to derive the "Alt-" beginning from altitude, referring to the height. To get there you have to go to Faerieland anyway, which is in the sky, and in a high tower. The statue is, however, at the bottom of the ocean floor in the Maraquan ruins-- quite the opposite of the location of the portal to Altador.
So... wouldn't it be interesting to ponder that, if that statue is originally from Altador, how it got to the bottom of the sea in Maraquan ruins?"
