Johnnydontgo, I do remember the Viet Nam war and the reporting of the death and violence, but still I don't remember seeing actual pictures of dead people--either on TV or in news magazines until years later.

The first picture of death that I saw was in one of the new magazines' coverage of the 1985 Mexico City earthquake--I remember seeing just the hand of a dead woman sticking out of the rubble. And, I remember getting outraged at the fact that someone would photograph a dead person--even if it was just her hand.

And now we have gotten so used to it--such a shame. I can't seem to get that Don Henley song Dirty Laundry out of my head when I see stuff like this:
"We got the bubble-headed-bleach-blonde who comes on at five
She can tell you about the plane crash with a gleam in her eye
It's interesting when people die-
Give us dirty laundry."

OK, OK, I'll get off of my soapbox now.

Intresting.

yeah, same...it is rather sad, Ihaven't seen the video yet, but I can't see why people are watching it! In a sadistic way, the guy will always live now...

Well, Midnight, maybe their watching it is good in its own warped way--because people won't easily forget just horrific war crimes can be--but I could not be his mom right now. I can't imagine her anguish--knowing someone somewhere is reliving it over and over on tape.

Yay! Go neopets! We're number one! Well actually, they're number twelve!

I hope I never see that execution video. I shudder at just imagining it. I don't know why anyone would want to look at that for fun. Its just so awful.

Oh, Stretchii, I didn't mean to "rain on the parade" and bring my fellow PPTers down. I think that it is great that Neopets is so high on the list. Just weird that there is both good stuff (like Neopets and Clay ) and evil, bad stuff (like the execution) on that list.
