According to my research (i.e. rewatching the original video roughly 3 times while showing it to various family members and looking up fan sites/interviews for more info) you CAN customise the UFOs, they're like any other vehicle. And I'm sure you can create flying creatures (no cities in the sky though) not sure about floating/slithering though.... :D

They had pictures of slithering and flying creatures at E3 :) Nothing that floats, i doubt they've got a physic power option.

And yeah, UFO's are crazy awesome customable. Those space war ship thingies that ran away were so cool.

Fine by me. My main idea was bipedal anyway...I just wanted to give them a more hardcore UFO. :P

Why joke?
Everyone knows the best part of a G-D sim is having the power to annihilate those that oppose you.

Unless you can actually interact with other player's land directly (as in not downloading someone else's work, which I know is one of the features, but instead interacting from one computer to another), I think this game has lost a lot of it's appeal to me. Someone mentioned to me that true interaction would not be implemented and that this could only be done by downloading someone else's world and doing whatever you want to it. That is probably the best thing they could have added to this game. I haven't exactly been keeping tabs on it (don't really care for computer games), but for something so hyped, it better be as great as they say, despite the lack of interaction.

The customization is cool enough, though. But I'd like to put my army of Carebears after another's army of Carebears. :o

Well, say you downloaded my world and its army of Sharebares (?), you could then invade my world with your Carebears, and my Sharebears would ahve the AI that mimics my playing to fight back, but you couldn't fight me directly, otherwise i could go to sleep and wake up seeing that someone had just come in and completely wiped out the species and civilization i had spent days creating. Not entirely fair?

That isn't a reason why they don't have it (or at least a good one). There are definitely ways to add the feature in without it equaling the total destruction of a "world", and that's the only reason I've heard so far as to why it hasn't been included. It's easier to make a scenario that doesn't destroy worlds than it is to create one that allows that. Loading up someone's world on your computer and attacking it is a sad excuse (or substitution, more truthfully) for multiplayer, and I'm surprised so many people are okay with that. It looks cool, but it's going to get tiring quite quickly unless they release expansions for it (I'll call it the Sims Syndrome).

(and where did you get the idea that people should (or could) be able to attack you while you're sleeping...? That would be a terrible idea. Like almost every other online game, you'd have to connect to a server or directly to your opponent. Why would you have unwilling battles?)

A great game like this is only going to be bogged down with the lack of playing with anyone but yourself (yeah, some people prefer this, but the way this game's set up, it's a multiplayer game made single player) as any good single-player game is.

^.^ Okay, i'll concede that they should have a thing were you can have the option of fighting world against worlds, but I doubt i'd even ever play that. You call it the sims syndrome? Well I enjoy playing it again and again, forever and ever. Its a type of gameplay that people do enjoy alot.

I think a sort of PVP species on species battle would be much better, if the direct multiplayer could happen.

You obviously much prefer games that you can directly interact with others, create an endless game. Well I think Spore offers so much more in terms of being able to make an infinite range of awesome creatures that it doesn't need that directly.

But sure, it should have it anyway.
