I got a neomail from The Neopets Staff [theneopetsteam].

Quote:
E-mail message is not going through :: A message sent to <my email addr> was not delivered right away. The message from the other server is '451 Dropped connection (initialize)'. We will keep trying to deliver the message.

My ISP (adelphia), may be blocking them and they will not help with it at all. ("Can you tell me if you are blocking neopets. com?" "No, I can't".)

But I was wondering what it was that neopets is trying to send me, and why don't they send it to my neo-mail? I didn't request a password change or anything else from them. Could it be that they are trying to warn me of a freeze? I'd hate to miss that. I'm not doing anything freezable, (i hope) but I'd like to know if they think I am - seems people are sometimes surprised.

Did you have your pet in a hotel? Is it your birthday? Neopets also sends out advertisements for their products. I don't exactly know what the e-mail is for but I can tell you that Yahoo! mail isn't blocked.

Thanks... No hotel; not my birthday or anniversary, and my pets are 315, 513, and 458 days old - nothing special there.

I thought maybe someone broke into my acct and tried to change something, but I can't find anything gone. Cash, stocks, inventory, and LDP prize balances are fine. Everything else is PIN'ed and looks fine, too.

Neopets also will sometimes email you telling you that you can buy their exciting new Product X. At least, it sometimes happens to me. So it may not mean anything.

You may want to change your email, though. I know several people who have had problems where they forgot their password or PIN and had trouble recovering it because their email address wouldn't accept Neopets email.

:P

That's it! I checked my email preferences, and (looky here), the receive "Neopets Merchandise News & Updates" option was not blocked any more. I think they changed the format of that page, and when they did, they reset all the email blocks.

Thanks.

I'd suggest changing your pw and email since you were concerned. I think I would do this in similar circumstances.

I use a free Gmail account and don't have problems with getting the Neopets emails. If you need a Gmail invite, just PM me.
