If you try to transform a petpet Krawk into a fully-fledged pet, but the name is already taken, will it just not work and will you have to rename it?

i'm sure someone knows...certainly not me. does sound peculiar though. Maybe it will refuse to change until you give it a proper name? or it will have added code name to it on the change?

That sounds like a good question for the Editorial. I'm curious now. They must have some sort of error handling coded because it's very easy to pick a name that already exists, but I'm not sure just what they do about it.

There's probably an error message or they add some random seed to the end of the name. you should just check to see a name's availibility anyway, just to be safe

I believe it has been asked in the Times editorial already, but i forget what the answer was. also don't feel like searching for it (if it is indeed there). boy do i feel silly...apologies for not being much help.
