Trivia update:
Question 1 has been half-answered (for 1 point credit).
stinkyllama wrote:
Here's an attempt at some points. :P

Q: What does Lisa equate Homer's drooling to?
A: I can't think of the exact answer off the top of my head but all I can come up with is when Homer was a food critic and Lisa wrote the reviews based on how he drooled. ???

What I was looking for was: transcendence.

Laser, phaser, maser has been answered (for 5 points each answer-er).

stinkyllama wrote:
LASER = Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation
PHASER = Phased Energy Rectification (had to look this one up--hope I chose the right one)
MASER = Microwave Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation

endeavourl wrote:
LASER = Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation
PHASER = Photon Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation
MASER = Microwave Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation

Laser and maser pics and schematics were given by endeavourl for 1 point each.

Also, there is no need to PM me the answers, unless I ask for it like with the #4 pic submission. Points have been awarded for #4 pic submission, but those will be revealed next round.

Yet to answer:
2: 10 points: What is Thief's plan to purify the Earth Orb? I want full details.
3: 10 points will be given out per essay (1+ paragraphs) about why 12/02/2006's Boondocks episode was so cool (This contest will last until 1700 PST Friday). The reason this is given so much time is because the episode will be rebroadcast on Thursday night 12 PM EST/PST Cartoon Network, giving everyone a chance to bask in its glory once more.
4: From now until the end of the round, 50 points if you PM me a really nice pic that screams 'wo ai ni'. If the pic is good enough, you will get the points. Non-cumulative and victim to my discression. Note: no hentai or other images inappropriate for those under 17.
Schematics (not pics) of a phaser are still MIA.

Replacement trivia:
2 points: Auto company that builds Project Satan on Futurama.
1 point each: Name of all the Gundams Yuy Heero pilots.
2 points: Singer that looks like a [adult escort] according to Stewie.
2 points: Rei, Asuka, and Shinji's grade and class.
2 points: Ataru, Lum, and Mendou's grade and class.
2 points: What's not half as painful as a tire-iron upside the head? (Family Guy reference)
2 points: Color of Mace Windu's lightsaber.
2 points: Who wants to be Peter Chris? (5 points for the full Family Guy quote).

Point Redemption (v1.6):
PM me your request, and it will activate in the next round. All point spending will be announced at the start of the round.
1 - Give me your Neopets name and I’ll send you a ‘junk’ item from my SDB, or I’ll PM you the link to a random pic from one of the Japanese fan art sites I frequent
15 - I will activate an extra weapon of my choice (Green Shell, Super Scope, Lip’s Stick, or Fire Flower) for the round
25 - Character of your choice will get to use an unused special in the next round (not for private use). Special will count against total (official) use of that special.
25 - I will activate a weapon of your choice
40 - I will activate a weapon of my choice for your private use
60 - I will activate a weapon of your choice for your private use
100 - Character of your choice will get to use any special of your choice activated next round (not for private use). Special will count against total (official) use of that special.
250 - Character of your choice will get to use any special of your choice for your private use. Does not count against total (official) use of that special

Rules:
1) Max of 30 non-game (kill a character, get a Pokeball, etc), non-special (PM submissions, because I feel like it, etc) points can be earned per round.
2) Daytime will be 'easy Google trivia' points. Night will be opinion poll points. Night will be worth more since it requires more thought. Day will be really easy questions that take no more than a quick check of your e-mail.
3) There is a cap on how many points you may earn. (Simple math problem to calculate).
4) A lot less partial credit will be handed out.
5) You will now have to cite what site you sighted the answer from (pun!), even if you know it of the top of your head.

1 point Google trivia (unless otherwise noted):
Speaking of Quark, how much did his remains sell for?
Where did Weird Al go to college? And where did he make a lot of his recordings from that era? Why?
Translate: Δ(C/2r)=<4U
The original team Star Fox.
Number of bird(s) eating Rei's toast.
Why Rei cries after being first introduced? (TV, not manga)
What is the first Gundam Rei pilots?
Number of Pokemon as of Pokemon Colosseum 2.
Africa. Sicily. Osaka. Indonesia. How many what do you bring back?
Only non-Nintendo, non-Square Enix character to cameo in Seven Stars.
Number of electrons in 10 kg baking soda. (Show your work)
Number of quarks in 10 kg baking soda. (Show your work)
Your favorite source for carbonic acid. (Not over once someone answers. just put your answer at the bottom of your post.)

2 point questions (unless otherwise noted):
Location of each of the seven stars and the boss(es) you are required defeat.
The far off year the Jetsons are from, how they get their meals, media to use their devises called 'computers', cellphone size comparison, and George's great, great, great, grandfather.
What is lying directly in this tank's path? 1: A gremlin. 2: A goblin. or 3: A giant monster.
(3 points) List all summons from FF VI and how you obtain them.

5 point questions:
Who teaches Thermal Physics 2 at Cal Poly SLO? Who wrote the book for Cal Poly SLO's Thermal Physics 1&2 classes?
Number of neutrinos released from SN1987A, with calculations to back your answer.

Except that Ataru and crew started the series as juniors. Simple mistake to make since it was 2- class which could mean either 8th or 11th grade.

Warning: I need to test a few stages to see if I like them or think they are a good idea still. We will be getting a Hyrule Castle tonight and maybe a Battlefield later in the week (Thur/Fri) if all goes well.

PS: I'm going soft in my old age and raised the trivia/submission point per round cap to thirty after realizing that it would take a very long time to reach the max # of points the way it is currently set up. Chris, you can earn seven more points before 1700 PST.

Formula mass for NaHCO3 = 23 + 1 + 12 + (3x16) = 84

1 mole of NaHCO3 = 84 grams NaHCO3

10000g NaHCO3 x 1 mol NaHCO3 / 84g NaHCO3 = 119 moles

119 moles NaHCO3 x 6.023x10^23 molecules NaHCO3/1 mole NaHCO3 = 7.167 x 10^25 molecules NaHCO3

7.167x10^25 molecules x 6 atoms/molecule = 4.3 x 10^26 atoms

*Shudder* Not sure if I did that right but that's the most chemistry I've done since I dropped Biology as my major two years ago because of organic chem...

Round 18

I'm not feeling too personable right now and quite temperamental. This is the only warning.

Story as of now:
'Sokuda!' [I hope I got that right] Marth ki-ai-s as he dodges Link's spinning blade. Roy gives a louder ki-ai and swings his sword at Link. Link's angular momentum mixed with Roy's attack knock Falcon for -3, followed by a slam to Purin for a cominbed -10 damage. Blasted like a gamma out of an excited nucleus, Purin shoots through the melee and snags the Heart. 'And that is why he is the dirtiest player in the game.' Mewtwo mutters as towers and spires rise from the ground. Hyrule Temple has a bad Redead problem. Sorry, Buffy ain't going to clean this one up for you.

Preferred Attack format:[Character A] attacks [Character B] for -3 damage’ [Do not forget the underline, red, and bold.]

Simple Attack format:[Character A] attacks [Character B] for-3 damage’ [Do not forget the bold.]

Preferred Heal format:[Character] heals for +2 HP [Do not forget the green and bold.]

Simple Heal format:[Character] heals for +2 HP [Do not forget the bold.]

Eliminations (Victim, Character, Player):
Ness - Pikachu - Blk Mage

Master Hand - DK - Sirclucky
Mario - DK - Sirclucky & Stinkyllama
Redead - ???? - ????

Points: Max = [([(125)^(1/3)]*5)]/.1
Blk Mage - 60
Sirclucky - 48
Stinkyllama - 38
Christopher - 56
endeavourl - 23
Divine - 10

Round 17 Announcements:
1: Redead are killed by any regular or special attack of at least -2 damage. Fan attacks also kill Redead.
2: Young Link can kill one Redead maximum.
3: Sorry for stealing some of your attacks. You may act as those attacks were not counted and make another action. I have given special rewards to those that I stole moves from. The same time delays apply to special moves.
4: Clear out some of those Redead. This an arena, not a morgue.
5: Please keep in mind the stupid, pointless trivia is one of the many factors keeping me from randomly lashing out at all of you. Thanks for playing along :)

This Round's Weapons:
1 Green Shell: -4 damage to one character (for Divine since I stole his move)
1 Freezie: -4 damage to one character. Target can not heal, but can not be damaged again for the rest of the round
1 Super Scope: -1 damage to distributed any way to up to four characters
3 Fan: No damage, but the target can not attack or heal for the rest of the round.

This Round's Specials:
Automatic: None
PST -0: Y Link: Fire Bow: -2 damage to two characters
PST -8: Zelda: Din’s Fire: -4 damage to one character (for endeavourl since I stole his move)
PST +/-12: None
PST +8: Kirby: Final Cutter: -6 damage to one character and -1 damage to Kirby

This Round's Stage:
Hyrule Temple: Redead attack! 6 Redead appear (chosen by a roll of a d10). Players can attack Redead. Redead deal -2 damage to one character each at end of round. Stage changes after all Redead are... dead. Five points per elimination. Not counted as trivia/submission points.

Last Period's Answers:
Nucleon magic #s: 2 8 20 28 50 82 126 208 (credit given)
Due to an intentionally ambigous question, endeavourl was correct. Link has 8 drinks of milk.
Quark did sell his remains and lived at the end of the episode. The point is, he sold them for X latinum.
Since I don't want to check the math, Llama-chan's operations are correct, even if the numbers are off. Full credit.
Christopher and Llama-chan earned 1 point per pic they submitted. Both also earned an extra 5 points because there was one pic I liked from both. None submitted was really what I was feeling. Sorry.

This Period's Trivia:
10 points: Read these two comics. What is Jasmine doing wrong? And why is Huey right? (At least on paragraph)
10 points: When Misato bribes the Children with a steak dinner to fight the 10th (?) Angel, Asuka immediately pulls out a guide to the best restaurants in the area. Your task: Logically, explain to me exactly why in all the hells does Asuka have a freaking restaurant guide on her person, while in her school uniform, while at work, while at a mission briefing.
10 points will be given out per essay (1+ paragraphs) about why 12/02/2006's Boondocks episode was so cool (This contest will last until 1700 PST Friday).
Any of the remaining questions on this post.

Quick but important poll!
If you want to be polled (no need to enter), please post what timezone you are in, based on GMT. I am in PST which is GMT -8. This way I can keep track of double posts better. Thank you!

sky...my numbers include doubly magic nucleons like 16O or 40Ca that are correct as well...these in fact have higher binding energies and are more stable than the regular magic # isotopes.

And I'm formally protesting you giving jigglypuff the heart container.
(yes yes I know its within the GM's power to do so...but still)

I recognized the numbers for doubly magic nuclei, but I was asking for nucleons, just #s for protons and neutrons. We spent a lot of time on magic numbers and binding energies in my modern physics class. I know what I asked for. I know you answered correctly. I just shortened what you gave down for what I was asking for. You got full credit.

As to Purin... I knew there would be protests, that is why I gave you and Icey player specific items and specials. If you don't want Din's Fire, you can have Nayru’s Love (+4 HP and redirect the next attack against Zelda, or redirect all attacks against Zelda for the round) or any of the other announced moves for this round. You could still have to wait for the move to be activated, but you have a free move coming as of my update. I'll still be feeling bad about it tomorrow so you might get some extra free toys in the next update. Until then, take what you have been given (including 10 free points to all who posted last round), Google some of the other questions, opinionate on one of the opinion polls, and relax.

Ok...that clears up the nuclei/nucleons thing. Also, you say that we get a free move...does that mean we can do 2 moves within our 24hr block?
