I saw the documentary. I thought it was well done, but I also thought it was... unnecessary. I'm not really sure how to explain that, except I saw the documentary with a dual purpose: to educate the viewers, and to obtain high ratings.

Frankly, the idea of a feature-length film based on this tradegy disgusts me. Pearl Harbor and Titanic stand on (slightly) better ground because they're about events that happened decades ago, so while theycan be seen as attempts by Hollywood to reap the benefits of a horrfic event, they're also exposing new generations to said events, making them aware of what happened.

But to make a movie about the events of September 11th merely five years after the fact disturbs me. Had this movie been made, I dunno, 30, 40, 50 years later, then I wouldn't have such a problem with it. It just seems like they're (and I'm not really sure who "they" are, just whoever thought this would be a smart idea) jumping at the first opportunity, that the only reason they didn't make this film sooner was because the country would go stark raving mad in response.

I don't plan on seeing this movie unless someone else manages to convince me that this isn't all just a money-driven project.

I'm sure it feels lovely to make such emphatic threats like that, but what do you think the likelihood of them bending the truth will be?
