I am perfectly fine with four pets per account. It looks nice and balanced. I have a side account with three more "forever pets" and a lab pet, and eight pets total is definitely enough for me. However, what I DO think we should be able to do is transfer pets between our own accounts without the risk of losing them. It could be sort of like the premium thing where you can designate a side account -- we could specify which accounts we also owned and freely send pets/items from account to account (providing we only played games and did dailies on the main). That way we could switch our pets around all we like and all 20 of our favorite pets could get time on the main if we wanted. I do think 20 pets is enough for anyone.

Obviously there's a potential for scamming there, but since this would be done by e-mail address, if someone changes theirs in order to be sent a pet, they deserve whatever happens to them! The only other thing I'd worry about is getting accidentally frozen -- if all your accounts were linked, you would lose them all. (And yes, most freezings are not accidental, but I was frozen due to a game bug beyond my control and I've had a friend who was mistakenly warned and another who was frozen for being too good at a game, so I'm a bit paranoid.)

I want five pets. I reaaalllllllllllly want five pets. Then I'll have an ultimate team! I reallllly want five pets.

When I get a fifth pet, I wont ask for a sixth. I just want five.

I wish there was a way you could earn getting a fifth pet, like proving you can take care of four, keeping them well fed, not sick, and happy for some time. Or maybe just having seniority on neopets.... as a reward for being on neopets so long.

I'd pay a million np per account for a fifth slot, but that's not something I'd want them to know.

I wish we could have 8 pets per account. I'm not sure why that number, it just appeals to me...

I SOOO dont agree with the issue. Not one bit. Do you know how many pets newbies would adopt? Then they would just quit! Plus peoples lookups would be huggeeeee. Newbies would probably want one pet of every species and color. I think they should do it like this:

First join Neopets: 1 pet MAX
3 months later: 2 pets MAX
6 months later: 3 pets MAX
1 year later: 4 pets MAX
1 year, 3 months: 5 pets MAX
1 year, 6 months: 6 pets

I think that would be perfect.

I would like to have more than 4 as well, I have a side account with two pets on it right now, but I would like to have more, I just don't have time to switch over to the other account everyday, but if they were on my main account I would totally play with all my pets and everything.

If they allow us to have more pets, then I think they would have to up server space also.

I think thats the main problem with allowing people to have more pets.

Ahh, but Neopets likes to hold on to as many user accounts as possible. I can't imagine ever saying"Over 70 million accounts- over half of them inactive and 25% frozen" I'd rather them take the route of the rest of the internet and remove inactive accounts. After you first create an account, you'd have one week to log in again or it would be deleted. A month, 6, and then any accounts that have not been logged into for more than a year would be pruned. Exceptions could be made for frozen accounts knowing how long it takes them to respond to those, and they could send an email warning to inactive accounts before they remove them. It'd certainly save space. Again, I'm not for unlimited accounts and pets, but it wouldn't hurt to be nice to longtime players for a change.

Yes! I completely agree. I'd also like the ability to change a pet's name: I adopted a Bori that I absolutley adore, but he came with the name BORIBORI_(randomnumber). I'd love to be able to give him a proper name..

OH NO NO NO. Not however many we want. I think five tops. MAYBE six, but I'd be fine with five.

Increase it to 5, and there'll be people saying "You increased it to 5... Why can't you increase it to 6? It's just one more!"

*shrug* I don't care - I only have two pets anyway - a Maraquan Draik <3 and a lab rat.

I wouldn't mind an extra pet or two (two at most), but it literally took me three days to come up with a name for my Acara (latest pet). I do not want to go through that again.

Ooh, I wanted one of those... before I saw the Faerie variety. :)

Sometimes I think it would be a whole lot easier with just two or three pets, but I wouldn't be able to decide which ones to keep and which ones to give up for adoption.

Neohomes should let you house pets so that each account may have a max of 6 pets. 3 Active Pets (appear on lookup, in Neo terms "Pets that travel with you") and 3 pets at home.

Leaving pets at home all the time makes them sad, and random events can switch them around etc (say for 24 hours where you have to keep the line ups the same)

Something has happened

The lights flick off and you hear sounds which sound mysteriously as if somebody's been tied up. When the lights are turned back on, [Pet A] is standing when [Pet B] just was, whistling suspiciously yet smiling innocently...

They could then make other things about your security systems and funiture settings etc to make the pets more comfortable and safe etc.

If Neo really have server space to spare, they could make a site preference whether you see shortened lookups (active lineup) or full lookups (see all 6 pets on lookup, including little icons whether they're in the house or travelling)

Oh well...we know it isn't going to happen anytime soon :P

i honestly don't see the appeal of having more pets. i only have one. it's cheaper, easier to feed, the focus of all training, etc. i don't even know why you'd even want four, let alone six.
