>.< Ban and delete me if you want, but Neopets is driving me crazy. Inflation is through the roof, random users are getting frozen for NO REASON, neopoints are impossible to earn, and elitism runs rampant.
Add to this the fact that I'm terrified to log into any of my side accounts to so much as use the soup kitchen, and you begin to get my state of mind.
It's just... Neopets is supposed to be FUN, not a grind. Why do we stay there? I can tell you I'll be gone as soon as I've remade Zalika; I just want to have her as a Draik again so I don't get kicked out of the clan... well, and Aang and Maza too, so their characters have actual manifestations outside my mind and artwork.
Honestly, though. Why? People are selfish and pretty much "omg I'm better than you" over every little thing, scammers are never frozen but innocent users are... A few good things have been done, I.E. the new pound rule, but we need more than that. We need monitors who aren't like people you'd find on World of Warcraft, who think they're better than you because they have a +4032 rod of arse-beating or something. We need people who actually care.

Sorry you are so frusterated. I was really upset with Neo a few months ago, I went and tried out several different sites that were similar, I read a few of the anti-neopets reviews by Ex-players...and then the LDP started and for whatever reason, I am pretty content with neopets again.
I understand some of the rules that bother you, though. Not everyone feels the need to cheat/scam some of us just enjoy the game.
I used to feed my little sisters pets for her when she was at JROTC just because she came home so late and always had home work. Eventually it got to were if she wanted them fed or groomed or anything else she would just ask me to do it, even when she actually had the time to do it herself, it really just wasnt here account anymore, but I have an account of my own.
They have Never traded, won auctions from each other, or given each other anything, they aren't even Neofriends. I don't have a side account because I don't *really* understand how you take care of them without breaking the rules. I would really like to use the other account as a totally different and independent account from the first. (IE NO neopoint or anything else advatage for either) It's all girly and cute, I have those days, just not very often! But I don't think neopets would ever believe I was NOT trying to cheat! Eh, now that I've typed it maybe it sounds weird, but I was always the one with three different games going at the same time on Donkey Kong too.
What I started out to say was I hope some ranting will help you feel better, it has its place and maybe after a little while you can remember why you enjoyed neo in the first place! Lol, if you need someone to rant to at any other point you can PM me, I don't mind, I think it is just something you need to do sometimes!

You claim scammers are never frozen but innocent users are. It's very much the opposite. Scammers are frozen far more than innocents users. It's the ones that manage to be lucky enough not to be caught with solid proof for a while that are talked about.
It's the innocent users that are frozen that people complain about for months. You don't hear people saying things like "I remeber half a year ago when I was on the boards and this scammer got frozen", you hear people talk about things like "I remember half a year ago when my best friend got frozen for no reason". It's a law that works in real life and on neo, get good service, you'll tell one person. Get terrible service, you'll tell ten.
With 27 million people to monitor, you cannot reasonably expect monitors to fully investigate every claim. Nor can you expect them to catch every single rule breaker. They can't lock every board on the neoboards that's breaking a rule and they can't be expected not to make mistakes. Believe it or not, there is limited hours in the day, and every monitor is human. Human's stuff up. Human's can't be expected to give a full reply to every report they get when the majority of them are things that don't break the rules or reports from multiple people that seem to think its a good idea to post "reported" on the boards, report the topic starter and unwittingly bump the topic up to the top so others can do the same.
Why don't you help people out ? Instead of making the monitor's lives harder, why not neomail people you see breaking the rules and kindly explain what they were doing wrong and ask them to stop ? Every bit you do eases the moderators' workload.
You shouldn't be terrified to use the soup kitchen on your multi. As long as you don't break the rules to obtain neopoints on multiple accounts (EG : Visiting the advent calendar), you won't get frozen. Despite what some might say, Neo staff don't sit at there computers watching your actions with their fingers dangling over the big red "freeze" button, just waiting for you to change accounts.
If you don't like the way the game is run, leave. Better yet, try making your own site that can grow popular to have 27 million accounts, actively using the site. It's like fast food outlets. You may think the server is the worst person in the world, slow, rude, obnoxious, wrong when it comes to getting your order, whatever! Try being that person and going through the "fun" experience of people hurling abuse at you for a simple mistake, lying blatantly when trying to get their meal for free because "it tasted funny" or because they found a hair in their meal that is suspiciously the same colour as their own. It's not a fun experience, and it's not easy.
I've been in the same account for three years. Not once have I believed that neo is out to get the innocent people, ignore the scammers or freeze people randomly. They're humans too. Humans make mistakes.
Oh and by the way, I used to chat with two of the Help Chat monitors. Neither of them acted like they had a rod of "I'm so much more powerful than you!" in their inventory. Unless you've actually seen a mod post on a neoboard or mail you acting like a complete jerk, you shouldn't make statments like that

I don't think anything is wrong with how Neopets is being managed. I think you're making a lot of wrong statements in your little rant. Scammers ARE getting frozen, and people getting frozen for no reason is not as great as you think. Out of all the people in the world with active accounts in neopets, how many people do you hear get frozen for no reason? At tops, I've probably heard about 20, 30, maybe 50 people in the past 3 months. What percentage is that compared to the millions of users? Very small. It's true that not everyone that gets frozen has the opportunity to complain, but it's also true that a certain percentage of those people probably did get frozen properly but is concealing it/didn't know the rules/made a mistake.
My account is 47 months old, so almost 4 years. 2 of those years I spent on a break from Neopets (got mad at lab ray for turning my shoyru into a lenny... but i love my lenny now =), but I've spent the last 4 months on Neopets building my account back. I use every resource available to get ahead... but I'm not frozen. It's because I don't cheat, I don't use the Neoboards a lot, and I don't have any side accounts. Honestly I worry very little about being frozen. And I'm enjoy it greatly!
And NP is not impossible to make! I've made over a 1.5 million (starting from 100,000) in the past 4 months. There are about 8 games I can play within 45 minutes that will get me 20,000+ NP. I know restockers can make millions in a day, but why do I need that much NP? If I want an avatar badly, I'll work for it. But actually, 500,000 of that NP came from a Black Pawkeet Slots win =p
Anyway, your statements kind of contradict. If NP is impossible to make, there would be no inflation. Inflation only occurs because the rate we're using NP (as in, NP disappearing into cyberspace, like spending it in a real store, paying to upgrade your shop, gambling in luck games) isn't as great as the rate we're making NP (the NP we make from GAMES and CONTESTS... making NP from restocking is only taking NP from other users, so that money stays in circulation).
All this to say: In my opinion, you're wrong, I'm happy, and Neopets is not my life.

I understand. I'm not reading your entire post, but I do understand the frustation on this game when it's difficult to offord this, or you buy this thinking you might make a profit then two days later it's given out in a contest.
Neopets is getting very Bussiness Like. All of us here see that. I said many moons ago that this is just a phase, it'll explode, then Adam and Crew will get back to what they once truely set out todo (and mind you, have the proper fundings now)
Just sit out, do what you can, play the game of the day (Five scores can be sent in, and if you can get up to the 2k mark, you can get 10k from it)

You feel hard done by and want to blame everyone but yourself for not having a good time.
I do remember you from a couple of months ago, you had your account frozen because someone reported you for swearing even though it was a misunderstanding. (You had a previous warning for that before).
I personally have been frozen, due to a misunderstanding of a phrase I posted in my guild - when I sent TNT an Email with proof of the misunderstanding, my account was unfrozen. Maybe I was lucky, but it just goes to show, that TNT do listen to their customers.
You say you are frightened to go onto a side account - as long as you follow the rules, there are no problems. I have played for over 3 years with 1 side account and have never had any problems. But I do remember you saying that you had a friends account to use, so maybe it is wise not to use any other account to play games or make nps on, as that is against the rules.
I joined a guild with like-minded people so we had things in common to talk about. This allowed me to make friends and have a place to get away from the boards (if I needed it). I find that having other people to chat with takes away the feeling of seriousness that can surround the whole "must make nps" that can overtake the fun of the game.
When chatting on the boards you often forget the age gap between players is great and so you need to remember you may be posting on a board with 8 yrs old and trying to talk to them as if they are your age. Obviously this leads to communication problems.
Certain boards have certain standards and you need to know what chat board suits you. I have never had too many problems on the boards and if an argument breaks out, I leave.
As to not being able to earn NPS - I can't see how this is so hard. Games for everyone's ability are available.
If Neo is a grind for you, then I suggest you find another game as you are right, Neo should be fun. If it is not, then you are doing something wrong.

Unless you insult people personally, or you start naming names, or you break the rules of these forums, we won't ban/delete you for a rant. Many players rant. It's allowed here. Just so long as you keep it clean, and within the forum rules you should have no reason to be banned or deleted.

I'll admit it before I start, I have not read the entire line of posts on this thread. Just from looking at the first though, I'm stating my opinions.
Through out my years on Neopets, I have been frozen twice. Naturally I insisted it was TNT's fault, and that I was innocent. One reason was that I had too many accounts over the 5-limit, and the other was before they put all the new rules up on the beauty contest. Back in '02 I was idiotic enough to vote for a pet on all of my accounts, before it was clear that the action was illegal. No where did TNT state this or made any indication towards this rule-- but I was frozen anyway. After 6 months and roughly 5 letters (four of them were nonsense and the other was full paragraphs) I was unfrozen.
Earlier this year I was frozen again because I had lost track of my ancient accounts, 'words' and emails alike. I simply made new ones, and once I regained access to these older accounts of mine over the months I was foolish enough to transfer items from there to my new primary. They were frozen within a week even though I technically did not do anything intentionally illegal. In recent months TNT came out with the rule they posted in the editorial, stating how transfering belongings to a new main and freezing the old ones was okay. I can't remember what issue it was in.
Regardless of all that, the moral of this story is those who are frozen are never truly innocent. Though it was hard for me to accept, whether accidental or not I was frozen for my actions. Even though TNT in my eyes tends to be a little cruel at some points-- as not many second chances are given-- I'm starting to believe they are just misunderstood.
For instance, many users were frozen on the "duping day" back then in September (I believe?). I'm not critisizing their judgement on a personal point, but when there's 20 royal paintbrushes and 15 baby paintbrushes being donated to the money tree are you foolish enough to go snatch a few in users shops for a quick bargain?. Put simply, it's greed which is something alone that should be punished. If you honestly had your account's safety in mind, you'd steer clear no matter if you could've made a few million or not.
Secondly, you stated making NP is hard and the inflation is terrible. Though the last statement may be a little true, our economy is just the same. But in this day, the experienced can make more than they could before. It's just like back in the 70s when gas was 25 cents a gallion-- now it's up to 3 dollars. Prices go up, tough.
I once had my share of pity parties and rarely went over 100k-- sometimes staying at that point for months. But when I set my mind to it, with dialup I could make 300k in about 12 weeks. Sure that's slow, but I wasn't good at games. Now when broadband came along awhile ago, I imidiantly went to restock and pulled in 150k average a day-- when I felt like it. When I'm lazy, such as today, I only end up making 20-30k a day. But that's fine, it's something. You just need to put your mind to it.
Last night I used my knowledge of the site and went to wizsnipe, though luck played part on it, shortly after I found myself with a draik potion in hand and only 5k out my pocket. When I had found it, I only had 2k on hand and lagged like hell. By the time I got to the bank and back, anyone could have grapped it-- I was going at a pace slower than a dialup user.
So, you can too. Just takes some elbow grease.

I'm not a gamer or restocker, I do not go on neopets every day and still have the lab map, 4 painted pets, good petpets, a battledome pet, a neohome in the works, etc. All you need is some patience and be willing to make a little effort.
