If there's just a list of links to the locations on the maps, I would much prefer to use that then going to those terrible flash maps. :(

Sigh
-begins bookmarking links left and right-

Not too happy, but I guess its natural that a computer based game site would give preference to faster, more expensive connections.

At this point, the only thing a slow connection can do is give me a high score in Volcano Run. And who knows...they might decide to freeze me for 'slowing down the game.' x_x

I was so disappointed reading that :( I would rather have something like the FAQ pages that's text-based (an organized list of shops and features with possibly an image to associate with it) than having no low bandwidth option.

I wouldn't mind missing the pretty map if they provided an alternative for some of us who want no heavy flash maps.

I think that's a great idea. They could even follow their own example of the text-based list of all the worlds found beneath the Neopia world map-- but instead of an interactive map, they could use a default image for the low bandwidth option users. I threw together a quick example of what the Lost Desert Map could be like for the HTML option (of course I'd imagine the image they could use would be better than the one I used and I didn't include all the links). Extremely easy, very low maintanence, and it would take five minutes at most for an update...Everyone's happy!

That is a good idea. Now we just need to all pester TNT with that request.

That is a really awesome example. I'd choose that over Flash anyday, as long as they used cool pics at the top.

that IS a great idea! I know I'd much rather have something like that myself. Even on high speed, there are times when maps either won't load or take forever. When I was on dial-up I always used html to go through the site. Flash was for games only.

Really, some accomodation is needed for people with older/slower computers and/or internet connections.

You know they could easily pull better quality TCG art that works with the area (like in point they did with the War Room during the Battle for Meridell.) Even if the art was even slighty relevant to the area (like a "plain" cropped version of the flash map) it would work.

Well, I'm totally disappointed that we won't have any HTML maps anymore. So I'm bookmarking all the various shops on High Street and the Lost Desert areas. Can't help but think that TNT's page viewing stats are going to be lower from now on. The new maps often crash my browser, which means that I lose my cache files (Mozilla/Netscape). And that means additional time spent reloading pages. Yuk... :(

Looking to buy Snowbunny Stamp and Sticky Snowflake Stamp. If you're selling, please PM me!
