It really doesn't seem you are too worried about getting frozen. You complain about being suspended, and you swear you don't know why but I have seen you on the boards. As soon as your suspension was over you couldn't wait to get into mischief again.

It may be fun to you, but you are walking a fine line.

I have used the neoboards for years (3yr old a/c) and only have had a couple of bad experiences. I have NEVER been sent a nmail from TNT even when certain boards became explosive.

If you deliberately look for trouble then you WILL get it. I have had many disagreements/debates on the boards and it has been fine.


A couple of tips to help those who seem to fall foul of the Neoboard monitors:

1. Don't bait the Newbies - giving them false information - this happened quite a lot while the LDP was going.

2. Don't go to another Chat board and deliberately cause a fight between boards, etc Avatar Chat/Battledome Chat always seem to have problems.

3. Don't bait Avatar Chatters by saying you will lend them an item, then brag about it elsewhere how they are all New Member.

4. If you find someone posting a subject you have strong feelings about, don't go in to that board. If it is a "bad" topic, just report it or ignore it. Going into such a board can get you frozen.

I highly recommend that everybody stay away from the boards. Why take the chance?

I get very annoyed when people say this.

The policy on the NeoBoards is exactly the same as on PPT — If you do something wrong, you will get punished. I cannot say why anyone particular may have been frozen (and bear in mind that this comment isn't intended to be directed at anyone in particular), bit I find that in general, people who create threads like this are less innocent than they appear (as I said, not implying it at anyone).

I used to speak to someone over AIM, and we were on a chat board, and they were calling everyone New Member. They IMed me and announced that they were frozen, and were saying how unfair it was. If you flamed someone here, you will be punished. I have to say that you are very lucky here, as it is a more mature society and we let you get away with quite a bit more, but with a low tolerance level becuase of a much lower average age on Neopets, I feel that offences should be taken more seriously.

One day I was raising debates on the neoboards about the av banners, with a large amount of the content really not suitable for the board. I expected to be frozen, but instead I got a Neomail from theneopetsteam telling me that Neopets are no in charge of the banners, and to contact them if I see anything wrong. I really expected to be frozen, but the staff were friendly, polite and understanding, and suggested that I stop, and they apologised for the content of the banners. I doubt very much that saying 'i like cheese' will get you banned if the above happened. (The one time I was frozen, incidentally, was because my brother thought it would be funny if I were to post 'freeze me' on the neoboards. I was frozen, but there was a form to a reclaim form, which I didn't fill in because it was my secondary account anyway.)

I would like to say, as a disclaimer (even though I said it all the way through) that this is not directed at everyone, or even anyone in particular. I know as much as I do about your cases as you do about my cow. However, I am saying that in general punishments are oftne much less random than you people think. People trying to get sympathy will never said "I was scamming people and got frozen", becuase they want people to go 'aww... sorry... have a cookie' This is definitely the case at PPT. I have been contacted on AIM once saying "Why did you ban person X. All they did was double post once." The record of this person said that they were a consistent spammer, promoting evil sites. It's not human nature to tell the truth if it makes you look bad.

Please don't anyone take offense at this (especially the guy who started the thread, complete coincidence that it turned up in your thread, I was just getting a little ennerved by the unhalting posts of 'neoboards are evil', 'monitors are evil', 'bot bot bot' etc.). This is not intended as a flame to anyone.

I've been in neopets for about 1 year with this account, although I have had another accounts before this one, and I never had problems with the boards. I'm almost always in the boards, mostly lurking around, the key ( at least for me ) is only watching, not posting. That gets me off most the trouble.

Well, I feel sorry you were suspended for no apparent reason but it could've been much worse. You are lucky.
