Orange-spotted purple pets?

I remember waaay back in the day I always wanted a purple zafara because it was light purple and I loved that color. then I stopped playing for like, a year and I come back and its dark purple with ugly orange spots on it.

But back to the spots. I don't see why people are so upset. Anyone who claims the spots do not go with Purple obviously aren't very good with fashion (ha, something that comes with being who I am I guess) because they happen to go hand-in-hand and I happen to like the spots. I think people make way to big of a deal out of a few orange spots especially when you're not forced to paint your pet that color and there are numerous other colors you can paint your pet. Yes, I do see where having just a plain purple pet would make sense, but then you'd be getting into making fuschia, mauve, lavendar, and all these other "plain" colors. I happen to completely and utterly HATE Baby, Snot, Custard, Dung, Sponge, and some other childish colors and I know a lot of others who do to, but people don't make a big deal out of that and all the "cute" colors on Neopets, so why make a big deal out of the spots? It's not the end of the world.[/size]

The big issue is, some people used to have purple pets that were just pure purple. And liked them that way. Then one day... all of a sudden.. they had ORANGE SPOTS. That wasn't the way they had painted the pet, OR they way they wanted it to look.

Personally, I kept my zafara purple after the spots because I didn't like any other colours at the time. But as soon as Christmas came out.. byebye purple. XD

You're right, I don't know fashion.

But I know ugly when I see it, and I think the purple pets with orange spots as ugly as sin. I'm sure some people like it (apparently Donna does, too) but that doesn't seem to be the general opinion.

If TNT wants to create a new purple-with-orange-spots paintbrush and assigned the current "purple" to them, that's fine. But there should be a real purple brush. What's with the arguement that then they would have to make fuscia, etc.? No one's saying that TNT needs to make pets in every shade of every color that exitst. Purple isn't an obscure shade found only in 64 packs of crayons. Purple is a secondary color, just like orange and green (well, orange and yellow in pixels). There ought to be a brush for it.

dont say that! people will start complaining that the only way (to my knowledge) you can have a black pet is to paint it skunk . . .

In part it's because TNT does respond (rather quietly) to criticisms regarding some of the illustrations on the site. Otherwise we'd be stuck with a kitten-like Kougra and a puppy-like Lupe. Yes you could morph the pet into another species if you didn't like the revamp, but it wouldn't be the same for those players who are close to their pet as you can on the site.

To some this is a big deal regarding their preferences on site much in the same vein as those revamps, and there is a big enough group that doesn't like it enough that they're waiting for that same quiet responce. For reference, this is the second time they have responded to the Purple with Orange spots (the first time they stated that, it was mentioned that they would indeed be removed since it was a part of the failed RoS plot.)

Shadow is black as well. >.> And it's very black. With shadow and skunk, there is no need for a 'black'.

Remember when they made the orange and pink paint brushes because some 'red' pets weren't red enough? They could easily do the same with the orange spotted pets. Make a 'Orange Spotty' paintbrush or something, then release a real 'Purple' paintbrush. Just throw more spots on the orange spotty pets. XD

Actually, I really don't care anymore. I gave up on having purple pets a long time ago. XD If I want purple, my faerie kougra is purple enough. ^^";
