I don't really care whether there's a rare item code or not, but I am considering buying this, and if anyone's played it, could you give a quick evaluation of whether you thought it was any good?
I've held off on buying Neo merchandise for so long - I always drew the line so far as my Neo obsession went at the point of actually paying money for stuff. >_< But I sort of want this game...!

There's the official site. We just got it today, but haven't played it yet. The clips from the site look tons of fun, though.

I'm going to have to give it a rent because the graphics still look horrific. It's like they forgot the texture mapping on every single character. Bleh. I'd thought there'd be a rare item code though, or at least something in the game that could generate one. Not having one makes the kind of sense that doesn't make sense.

i don't think the graphics matter so much, as long as the story line is good. hehe, i did all the darkest faerie stuff on the PS2 site! i won several wallpapers and screensavers and a trailer! 
really wishing i had a PS2... i might go to a game store and buy one second hand.... neopets is destroying my bank account!

One review I read did say that the graphics make more sense if you already know the Neopets world, so perhaps what some are seeing as bad graphics was just a stylistic choice? *shrugs*
It's still too soon to tell. Maybe I'll just rent it.

After looking around the official site, I think I've decided that Roberta's lipstick is too scary for me. ^^; I'm not going to buy it, but I do still want to play it sometime.

I think your missing the point...
most neopets products come with whats CALLED a rare item code, but it dosn't always give anything that great. But the neopets video game came with no code. Rarity has nothing to do with anything.
And there is a chance its a decent item, but its pretty low.
