The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy has very little information about PPT and its members since it was destroyed along with the Earth and most field researchers got distracted by the shinier objects of the internet, such as Neopets, Gaia Online, and Runescape. However, it does have a tidbit about a rather insane musician known as DiscordantNote and set contests. Though these two topics have no relevance to the galaxy at all, the editors just thought adding it in was a good idea at the time. So without further ado, this is what the guide has to say about set contests and that crazy musician with the hard-to-spell name:

That's right. I've tried to make a new set for myself, but I got so frustrated I decided to turn to you guys (who, of course, will do a superb job ). This is my first contest, so bear with me here.

As for the theme, I only want one thing: The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Yes. Any image from it (especially the movie, 'cause it's prettyful) will be considered, and though I do like the movie imagry better it would be nice to have an older set or two. No, there isn't a speific charcter or ship or planet I want, anything will do.

HOWEVER...the avatar must contain the following image:



It must be the focal point of the avatar (a la my current set), and must be quite visible. You can fade a bit like I have it now, but you can't do much more than that.

Makes the contest a bit trickier, eh?

Still, I will give 50K NP to the person in first place, 25K for second, and 12.5K for third. Depending on how many people enter, I may award prizes for fourth and fifth as well.

One last thing: you may enter as many times as you want, but can only place once. This is, of course, to prevent someone from monopolizing the prizes.

I'll give this contest four weeks, meaning it'll end on, guess what? November 14! No particular time is in mind, but it'll probably be when I get home from school (which is 3:00 EST-ish).

I'll probably still use anything that's too large for here on other forums, but I'd perfer if I could use them here.
EDIT 3: I extended the deadline two weeks, because this is a kinda hard set contest, and I might as well give you a hint...I like the technology from the series...(note: you can still submit anything you want to, that's just something to get you going ).

Good thing I had all the ripped parts of the 80's version dvd menu system already compiled!

It's a beautiful set, but it's too big a file for these forums. True, I could use it elsewhere, but it would be wise for you to submit a version with a smaller file size. It'll improve your chances of winning at any rate.
