if you accidentally refreshed on your sharp eye deciphered scroll, therefore reading it agian, do I have to go through all of them again before I can get spiked or am I ok?

If you've got some time to spare before you can get into the temple again or before your light starts shining, I think it's for the best to redo the sequence again, since I've already heard of people who did exactly the same thing and who were not able to get their second crystal before doing their sequence all over again...

Definitely. I only tried one option... converting all the secondary to primary and keeping the other primaries. I went this way because it presented an identical matrix to the first time through so had the appeal of familiarity.

Yeah, I was thinking there was something up with the change in the CCats' color order. I played around with that on the first four things I played with. Used the 8-scroll ones (which gives me 7 blues and 1 red) and did generally what we did the first round with the current color setup with the Catalogs and then tried with the original color setup (testing the idea that the painting was something to throw us off). Got nothing out of those four either.

I know there's at least one more option to the complimentary one... that would be ignoring the primaries that are present with both crystals and just complementing the secondaries. JUst after 5 times running around the Repository, I felt a break was in order.

you've just been toddling your behind off, haven't you? ... once again, still waiting for a chance to fall in a spike pit. kinda ironic... "why can't I fall in a spike pit! " :P

Matching the color pattern with your tablet gives you the colors/symbol matches. So say you have 4 yellow symbols. Starting from the top of the yellow catalog you find the first symbol that is in the yellow category. It doesn't matter what order it was in the tablet. Then you keep going until you have all 4 symbols written down in the order the catalog gives you.

This is just an example.

I can't find any spike pits either. :( And my lights are on in 15 mins so if I don't find spikes the next time I'm in the temple I'll have to wait 8 more hours.

SupR! Thank you - for your explanation that finally got through my thick skull and your patience. Well actually I thank ALL of you for your patience

OK, if I have the right idea (that still scares and surprises me) has anyone tried using this new color thing but adding in the repeats - that would give you 12 scrolls to read. For instance:

1 BYRR xxYB RBRx BYxY
2 GGOP xxYB RBOx GGxG - note the YB and RB are the same, so
3 YBYB xxYB RBYx YBxB = 12 scrolls to be read?

I guess the 3 big questions are: How do these new colors work, how many scrolls do we read and what is the order - is it going by the card catalog again following the colors from our FIRST crystal ... or are we going to have to go by our tablet and whatever the first color is on that - that is the color we start with, read all of that color, then the second color, then the third.

For me that would be YBR order If we have to follow the tablet this time.

Just a reminder to everyone - Take a SS of everything you can! Your colors, your card catalogs, just everything and anything you can. I have a folder full of images, even the parchments from when we were finding tablet pieces.

*runs around the room some more*

i know! 8 hours, can you believe it? i'm worried the plot is going to end before i get started on this next part. it seems like so many people have gotten farther ahead, TNT wouldn't have any problem just finishing it up! :(

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing last night. Resolved not to go to bed 'til I got the spikes. I ended up searching about 10 doors for my trap in the end.

I'll tell you, the trick I tried after the 5th gas trap (4 in a row!)... and this may or may not work for everyone... I remembered seeing the spikes when I was looking for the fragments. So I started going through those doors in order until I encountered it.

I figured worst case scenario is it gives the same result a random door would give.

So, maybe if you remember seeing the trap when you were doing your hieroglyph fragments, that might be a place to start looking. I don't know. Just a thought. :)

So, just to clarify - this is where we are on the second part so far:
1) You must go through a color subtraction system to determine which 8 scrolls to read from the second crystal.
2) The card catalogs have changed placements
3) The card catalogs have been reorganized in terms of content
4) No one is sure exactly what order to read the card-catalog-indicated scrolls.

Is that pretty much it?

But IanB got the message of Anubis after reading only 8 scrolls?
