well it was good theory while it lasted

The only thing I can think of was each time I was in entry hall "seeing the racks" - I had stepped on the square directly in front of each rack first (not just used the central square and read all 3 racks from that square)

sorry to make you go back up and down :(

I dunno... it worked for a group of people... haha.
*shrug* :o

All this refreshing is ridiculous. What is challenging about hitting the F5 button repeatedly for hours and hours?! I'm totally frustrated with everything at this point. I'm on a slow dial-up connection because I live in a tiny rural area where broadband is not available. The best speed I can get is 28.8k baud - reloading the stupid Sahkmet image takes forever... Blahhhh. :x

Looking to buy Snowbunny Stamp and Sticky Snowflake Stamp. If you're selling, please PM me!

IMPORTANT INFO!

After refreshing for 4+ hours I think I have worked it out! I started again!
(after I realised I had not clicked on the blue rack before going to model room)

1. Start at entrance to repository
2. Go to Entry Hall and CLICK on SCROLL RACKS in order of the DOT colour on your Crystal. (mine was red yellow blue)
3. Proceed UP to 5th Floor then DOWN to MODEL ROOM
4. ENTER - the light should be streaming from the hole in ceiling
5. PLACE crystal in top of dome
6. Colours appear on right hand wall
7. Take screenshot for future reference.

Time I got the light: 12:23am
My symbol: Ra
Colour order: rbyxyyrxxrbrbbxy

This NEEDS to be verified by someone who has not yet got the light!

Well, it didn't work for me, guess I'll have to keep refreshing some more. :(

We need more info from the people that it failed for:

Did you exit the scroll repository before going back in to the entry hall?

Did you step on the square directly in front of each coloured rack?

Have you got your crystal colour order ? (by going to inventory, clicking on useless crystal and you can then see the coloured dots at top of crystal)

Yeah, I tried it twice. First, I went to click on the 3 catalogue racks without exiting the repository and didn't get the light. Thinking that I made a mistake, I went back down a 2nd time and exited the repository entirely. Clicked on the colored racks again and still no light.

I'm using IE and even cleared my cache, but that didn't help at either. I guess it's back to more refreshing for me.

Edit:
In answer to your 3 questions:

- Yes, I exited the repository
- No, I think I stepped on the center tile each time.
- Yes, I clicked in order of my useless crystal dots.

Should I try again? 3 times a charm?

For those keeping track.

Lat, byr, 1:10am NST, ry_rb_by_ry_ybrb

I never left the repository. I never checked the colored racks. I never left the chefs area except to read scrolls nearby until I went to the 5th floor and went down the secret staircase.

Edit 1: additional info
Edit 2: typos

i believe every hour only a certain group can see the light as i am able to see the light for the whole time from 9pm. So that means people don't have to keep refreshing but revisit again hourly.

Yes, it is definitely an hourly thing. Some of us refreshed for five or more hours before the light showed up for us. Gemma, I can't recall the order I read my card catalogs in, but I read each more than once and in different orders. I still had to wait five hours before light showed in my model room, and I didn't revisit the catalogs in the meantime. I think your theory is disproved by the people who haven't read the card catalogs at all and have still gotten the light, anyway.

You just have to refresh once per hour. It doesn't matter when, as long as it's within that hour. I'm quite sure of this from reading tons of posts here and on the neoboards.

Ok, I went back down a 3rd time, and did all 3 things - still no light. At this point, I have the path all memorized and can make the trip in about a couple of minutes - only a small comfort to me now.

btw i didnt click the colour shelves in order of my crystal cos at that point of time i didnt realise that there was 3 colours on the crystal. So all i did was clicking on the colour shelves from the left to the right for once.

Therefore clicking the colour shelves in order of the crystal does not matter because i still managed to see the light

Thanks for trying to help though. Now, I'm just hoping that the next hour will be the one for me.
