I know they can check to see IP/accounts, I've seen this happen on one of the boards. Someone started a topic that they'd been frozen for sharing an account, a staff person came on and told them just how many people had accessed the account from where. Not specific IP addresses, that would be wrong to put out in public, but they can "see" things.
If you're really concerned about computer sharing (which I was) I suggest writing to support and giving them the information - the account names, emails, things like that. From what I understand, just putting something on your lookup won't mean a thing -- TNT isn't going to go reading lookups to see what the story is, they'll just freeze if they think you're cheating.
I've always wondered if those disclaimers people put on their lookups actually work. It makes sense that it wouldn't. why would TNT scan a person's lookup before freezing them, they have all the evidence they need. People put messages like "I access this account from a couple different computers" but I mean that's a given right? I access my account from wherever there is a pc lol. I also log into my mom's account sometimes, like to help her with the LDP. I know there's a fine line between them freezing an account, but I wonder what that line is? As long as a person has secondary accounts and only uses them for storage that's reasonably okay isn't it? This coming from someone who had 14 accounts when neopets first started and used them all for making np ^_^;;, ah the newbie mistakes.
