Some say its real, others say its a hoax, but Im sure after the last fiasco, all I know is that we cant be too careful, so I thought Id mention..

ALL POINTS BULLITEN****** WARNING! COOL NEGGS, H4000 HELMETS AND FREEZING POTIONS ARE BEING DUPED! WATCH YOURSELF

I went to the BD chat and they are saying the same.

Yeah, there's been a lot of dupe-suspicions going on.

Royal PB sold for 700k in auctions
Smugglers Treasure Chest offered on (something cheap) by a newbie account
3 Cool Neggs offered for a Cloud PB

Many people claim there's been freezing potions, h4000 helmets, and cool neggs sold buyable...but no one has any screenie of proof.

Hoax? Real? I don't know. BUT EVERYONE, BE CAREFUL! IF IT'S TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE - IT PROBABLY IS. DON'T RISK YOUR ACCOUNT FOR A GOOD DEAL.

Thanks very much for the warning though, I think I've lost count of how many times this forum has probably saved me from getting my account in trouble.

I don't understand about this duped thing so you're saying if there was a honey potion for 20k or something is it duped?

No one knows if its a hoax or if its real, but to be on the safe side I wouldnt buy anything that is unusually cheap, especially if the seller has 10 of them.. ekkkk

Yes, thats what happened last time, floods of duped items went up in the money tree.. Id be staying out of there, though my connection is far too slow to ever get anything anyway.

Its also advisable to change your prefs to only neofriends can give you items, since last time dupers sent items to anyone and those with them were frozen.

The advice last time was to change prefs to Neofriends only to give you items and dont accept neofriend requests.

Sorry if I sound terribly dense asking this, but how are items "duped"? o.o;

"duped" is short for duplicated. A program is out there that can copy items. Neopets know they are copied because each item is uniquely numbered, but it is impossible of a common person to tell.

Last tiem, people possessing duped items were frozen and then neopets did a rollback.

About one year ago I saw a topic in the boards "H4000 helmet for 99k in my shop". well, maybe it was Hypno Helmet and it was slightly further ago... anyway, I was very excited and bought it. I was pretty broken when I realised that i wasted 99,999np on Pile of Sludge.

thats not duping, but the lesson is the same - do NOT buy anything in a unreasonable price, and especially if it is declared in the boards.

I looked everywhere, but I didn't see anything unusual yesterday. I really think it's just a hoax.

From what I read on the neoboards it sounds like a hoax from a bunch of wannabe or otherwise script kiddies.

Still, better safe than sorry =)
