That was not, I don't think, what is making people think that email isn't completely on the up and up. The email I have from a support person has typos in it. *shrug* They're only human, everyone makes grammar/typos.
Johnny does bring up a very good point on this particular case -- someone going to the trouble of actually videotaping themselves during a rs. That kind of raises a red flag, at least to me.
I don't think in the case of an IP freeze/ban, there is a person involved. It just doesn't make any sense given the number of staff. There's actually someone sitting there waiting and searching for certain IP addresses? With the sheer number of people creating accounts/playing on the site?
I've read that what some people on high speed do if they do, for whatever reason, get IP banned is simply unplug their internet connection for a few days. They then get a new IP. I don't know if that's true, I'm not using high speed (if only I could afford it).
Roo, ouch! Having that happen is just terrible. Having one account frozen, then the others out of the blue. I recall someone who used to be a reg on the HD getting caught in an IP ban because their IP was extremely close (like only one or two numbers off) to a scammer. It took quite awhile but they were able to get it straightened out and got their account back.
No comment on this specific person, I don't know him even close to well enough to know one way or the other. And of course, none of us are sitting and watching him on the computer. Screenshots I've always thought were good evidence in cases of glitches, missing lab maps, etc., but then I found that many people are very good at making fake ss. Not that I can, my skills are negligible.
