In the librarys in the tomb, all the scrolls have little scroll holders. Do they have the same colors, shapes and symbols on the scrolls in the scroll repostiory? Maybe we just have to read them.

OK, my pet read/ate scrolls with my Nuria symbol (Kar, the leaf), with seals in the color sequence from the Lenny Conundrum. Nothing seemed to happen. I am now going to the chef, the stairs to nowhere, and the blocked-off stairs to see if anything has changed. I suggest at least one other person try repeating my experiment in case I messed up someplace.

Oh, and my pet read/ate certain scrolls several times, because I had so much trouble find Kar seals in certain colors. I figured it would work, because every time she read a scroll she treated it as if it were new, and every time she ate a scroll, an identical scroll appeared in its place. It wasn't gone. But this may not have been a good idea. Perhaps the next person to try this should make each scroll read/eaten a unique scroll? I will try it myself if this next bit doesn't work--after I spend some time actually playing Neopets (what? there are games? and pets to feed? who knew?).

Did you give yourself parental permission? I asked about that, my aunt refused to send in the permission form because she does not think it's appropriate to give out personal information to Neopets. And that's her final word on it.

Anyway, doesn't matter, I think we're just not going to get the crystal for that account. Thanks anyway for all the help!

Hmm. I don't know if my friend with the underage account moved any blocks, certainly did sand and furniture. I know I managed to participate in all three, and defeat the spirit.

We did notice that the chef does seem to recognize "us" but doesn't say anything about wanting souvenirs. Looks like it's either (a) didn't successfully move any blocks, or (b) having an underage account.

Wow. That's sad. Oh, well. At least I can help my friend get the faerie abilities and weapons to beat the spirit of the ruins. Maybe that will be a consolation prize.

I would suggest that you make sure they have spoken the prophecy to the statue and have been "scarabed." Hopefully, that's the missing link.

When you are standing opposite the chef a button appears below the picture (as it does when exiting the repository).

I'm not sure if anyone has figured this out, but unless you moved some sand, furniture, or blocks, then I don't think you can continue in the plot.

Someone I talked to said that they finished the tablet, but couldn't get the Chef/Foreman to say he wished he were on vaca. And since it would say that the foreman "remembers you", it'd make sense that you had to do one of the above activities.

I almost missed your post. That is interesting... I hadn't thought about the "remembers you" part of his message.
So:
You have to read your scroll in the temple library to get past the guards and into the repository;
Find all tablet pieces, translate the tablet and speak the prophecy to the statue to get covered in scarabs;
and have moved sand, blocks and/or furniture
to be able to get the crystal.
Is that right? Do we know if you have to have moved everything - blocks, sand and furniture? or will participating in only one part work?

Had you gotten past the guards? And perhaps visited him during some of the wait times? Like, maybe duing the last one when he was telling everyone that he was out of a job?

Help! My experiment is halted by confusion over the hidden/blocked off/one-way stairs. (Would some clever person update the maps?) I dropped all the way back down to the 2nd floor (after the previously described experiment w/ the sequential scroll reading/eating) and there's now a set of stairs that I don't remember from before, in section rows 14-16 columns 25-27--and that section is now inacessible. Had the second floor already changed to block that part off & add stairs, or is it new? Or did something I did change it?

I'm now down to 3, and I've found all the colours of my FER symbol.

On what floor did you find a blue fer? I was beginning to think they didn't exist!

Floor 3. There were none on Floor 1, I only checked 1/3 basement but found none.

Thanks Ian, I found the blue fer on 3 Now if you kept track, can you tell me where to find a red fer? Are there any on 4 or 3?

The stairs to nowhere are on the third-floor blocked off stairs. You can only get to the blocked off area using the hidden staircase. When you click the blocked off third floor staircase going down, you come out the ordinary second floor staircase to the first floor. You can't go back up to the third by turning around, it takes you down to the first floor like usual with that staircase. Hence stairs to nowhere. Once you come down them from the third floor, you can't go back up them. Maybe I should've called them one-way stairs instead of stairs to nowhere. They go somewhere, they go from third to second floor--but we already had a staircase that did that.

What I don't know about is those blocked off SECOND floor stairs. See my post just above.

I can't seem to find any of my yellow FER scrolls in the repo. I've seen alot of people on the boards with the same problem. Are certain colours just very hard to find/rare or do you need to trigger something in order to get them?
What do you guys think?

We're not sure. Its been theorized that perhaps they're hidden somwhere(in the secret areas maybe), and you have to do something to get there, using the crystal or bringing the crystal to someone to get the fore-chefs food, and then he'll let you back there. But nobody really knows for sure.
