Sky: those numbers are just the record of wins, draws, losses and points earned for that kill. though not points for the war, mind you. =P

Though it's true battler that can't solve this puzzle could just get info, TNT did make it a bit hard or the lazy ones that couldn't stand doing the tablet, which kinda made they say "forget it" when it comes ot finding the statue, whicht hen makes them not able to pass the guards, which then makes then ot get to dig sand, move blocks, or put furtinture into the place. >.>
Mapping drove a few away.

I wouldn't be surprised if chalalngers appear and go away via the plot,s ince 1-players stil exists, there must be a catch somewhere.

Yes, you have a point there. I still think it will even out though. Puzzlers will be the same way. You will have those that haven't really trained or don't really know a lot about fighting or have any good weapons, that will come to the battlers for help. They will still have to train and / or buy weapons and go through the fights for the points. Many just won't bother. And I fell certain that some of the challengers will drive quite a few awar!

Can you explain what you mean by the last line? I'm a little confused. I know the 1P challengers usually disappear during a war. But I don't get the rest of it. o_O

If anyone really uses those Snowball things, they are like 1, 2, and 3 NP at my shop, just a few, but I don't need or want them. Help yourself. Sorry not much more stocked now, life situations beg my attention and I have not restocked in a while. Either way when I do, my prices are so low I sell out overnight.

I found my 12th!

12th, Brains vs Brawn: With all this talk of battle or not to battle, you can also see this same concept in the comics and with the repository. We have so far in the comics seen that puzzling is the way to go. Jazan has been battling since day two. (Day one he tried brains and failed). Seeing that his zombie horde and giant Scorchio has so far proved to be ineffective in getting his way. Nabile on the other hand has proven that if we can figure the mystery, we can save the day. Tomos even proved that in the water trap escape. W/ the repository, we learned really fast that working smarter allowed us to work more and get more done quickly. This could just be reading subtext a little too much, but I think TNT is trying to tell us that thinking and reasoning is a better path than blindly heading into battle. Although, violence will be used to help save lives and advance the plot, it would be typically deus ex machina to have a smart way to solve the plot. Ah, the deus ex machina. Stories would be a whole lot more boring w/o the quick fix ending. Hey, I use them all the time.

Well, both challangers we're fighting right now were in the currect plot chapter. TNT isn't hinting zip to us about what's going on in the plot on the news, so now I'm assuming that the won't even announce war oppoents, except in the Battledome news page.

If enemies are base donthe plot, then plot updates will be less common. Like once a week...oh wait, that's already happened.

I just wouldn't be surpsied if there's some catch to all this. This seems way too nice, I mean people can heal easily with Bob or Balth.

Points might be getting track in secrect like last war,but this time, there's nothing to hint what you might have. TNT did say they were keeping tabs on what everyone has done and inthe time they've done it, so must apply for this....right?

 I quote myself but still, why do I feel more "guilty" now for supplying arms to support a war that I don't support? Nor are we sure is even necessary to evolve the plot/prophecy/inevitablity to come?

Ok, I see. Yes, I agree with everything you said too. :)

I'm a battle novice and fight only what I have to for avies, so bear with me please. Balth is the inflatable, right? I didn't realize it healed, but can look it up on IDB. So, what is Bob? and would these be good weapons for me to buy?

Yes, I'm talking about his inflatable version. *coughs* The one with the good art. *shifty eyes* How I hate the real deal's crappy art.

I mean, if you're pet gets beaten, just give it a healing potion I and beat the inflated toy and they're fully healed for you to go wail on another opponent.
Bob is Punchbag Bob. He can't attack, but his high HP. he's more used by users with 100+ HP pets that have drain life. Enter a fight with Bob, drain his life once, withdraw then rinse and repeat till healed. Still Inflated Balthazar is the better choise. Who knows if Sid really is coming back.
Sid= Bob's cousin, or brother, that can hit back HARD.

What weapons?

Ahhh... it's all becoming clear now! Thankies!
Yes, I saw your posts about Sid. Was it ever decided if he appears randomly now as well as the way he did back during MI plot?

What weapons?

Good question! I wish I knew that myself. :P
(I know you were referring to my question, but it was a stupid question and reflected my stupidity in the dome. )

Ah! A lucky number!

13th, Who gets the bill?: I was just wondering, who will pay for all of this? The answer is: the poor man on the street. Wars cost money (maybe about 80+ billion NP a year). Rebuilding a city costs a ton of money (maybe about 5+ billion NP). Since this is Amira's city, she has to dip into Sakhmet's treasury to pay for everything. Sure, she can do like the Allies after the Great War and force the agressors to pay the bill, but that won't solve everything. Jazan may be rich, but I doubt he could afford the mess he is making. Amira would have to raise taxes to pay for most of the expenses incurred. I have to feel bad for the man on the street. His home and business will be ruined beyond repair, but he will be forced to pay the bill of a war he never wanted. She will probably have to call for international aid with the reconstruction. Too bad she has alienated the international community with her fickleness. Too bad there wasn't a peaceful resolution to Jazan's advances. The financial burdon will fall to the people just because a stuck up princess wouldn't make <3 not  . *sigh*. Good thing the real world isn't like that.

Edit: I'm taking the Fifth on the sarcasm issue.

As I just sold all my Snowballs in her defense for a mere 11 NP, I might be the voice of that "(wo)man on Sakhmet Street" :P Also, I thought the real world was like that, perhaps even more harsh, or were you being sarcastic? ;)

Good night forum, good luck with your fighting, tho I choose not to. 0:)

Woot! I beat the Spirit very easily, and as you can tell from my previous posts, I'm not a battler and know very little of the dome. I didn't even have to use any good weapons, so I would suggest to anyone with decent HPs that is thinking of trying it, just in case we get points, go ahead!

Edit: Thanks anjuna. I'm off for the night too. Laters!

As I was reading on the neoboards, and this apparently worked, try refreshing on the status page a couple of time, feeding your pet, equipping it and unequipping it (although that is risky as you may be stuck without your weapons), and I think that was all the advice.

Good luck.

Wed Oct 19, 2005 8:56 am

Azzie -- besides refreshing on the status page, one suggestion that often works is to unequip a (cheap, just in case it glitches) battledome item from the pet & re-equip it. Seems to jolt Neo into recognizing that the fight is over.

(I take it you've made sure it isn't an illness/hunger/hit point problem.)
