Why do people want the turmaculus to eat their petpet? Is there an avatar for this?

Also, how long is the turmaculus lockout time? I tried waking him up maybe 80 min ago, and it still says

Edit: Nevermind I just got it.

and now your pet is a little stronger thanks to Turmaculus!!!

I believe it is supposed to be 60 minutes so you can try once every hour although if you know what time he's expected to wake then checking every hour of the day isn't really necessary.
