Yes, my account is frozen. No, I'm not posting this in hopes that Adam or some other staff member will see this topic and unfreeze me whatsoever. If it makes you sleep better at night, I won't identify who I am at Neopets and such.

My account was frozen about a week ago for supposedly "scamming". I know damn sure I never did this, and no, I'm not hiding any secrets. Like every other Neopian who loses their account over something stupid, I e-mailed staff.

During me being frozen, I used another account of mine. This account was quite older than the main one I used, by about two years. I played games on it, chatted on the Neoboards, etc. I even earned a trophy on the first for Eliv Thade. This was all done while my main was iced.

Today, I finally received a reply from a staff member. Here's what it said:

"Thank you for writing. I looked into your issue and I see that you weren't
scamming afterall and I apologize for the mistake. However, your account has now
been frozen for creating multiple accounts."

This is ridiculous. I asked around, looked at the TOC and other rules, and no where does it say we're not allowed to play games or whatever on a separate account while our main one wasn't able to be accessed.

I think you should maybe try e-mailing them back, and tell them how you checked the rules and saw nothing about not being able to play games on a second account. As far as I know, you just aren't allowed to do dailies to earn more NP and send it over to your main account, which isn't what you were doing.

I hope you get your account back!

EDIT: I was just reading the Terms and Conditions and I saw this:

4. Do not create any new Neopets or accounts if you are not going to take care of them. You cannot have multiple accounts just to get more Neopoints or items. You are only allowed a maximum of five (5) accounts and can earn Neopoints with only one (1) account. Users who break this rule can have all of their accounts frozen.


That doesn't really make sense to me, though. How are you suppose to take care of your pets?

I'd also point out you only had one other account, does a sibling play neopets too? Because they may have 4+ files and TNT wouldn't know that you had a sibling, and would think all your siblings files were yours, my friend was frozen because of that, he got his file back though.

Labbiedor edit makes me think of something else to say, your file was frozen, you made nps on your back-up ONLY while your file was frozen, I mean how else would you take care of your pets on your side file?

I always see accounts that say on their lookup: "Not a multiple account, only using it to play games and restock until my main is unfrozen."

I always thought that was against the rules but no one ever seemed to get caught, so I thoiught I was just being oversensitive :P

But good luck getting it back :(

That's really harsh. It seems like you can't win no matter what you do, TNT needs to take a second look at their rules. I hope you get your accounts back :hug:

That is awful! I was frozen once (though I said something inappropriate so it wasn't completely without cause) Continue to plead your case and the right person will come along and use their brain. I got unfrozen by William <3 because he is wonderful.

Seriously though, what kind of heartless negg hole would freeze you for using an alternate account while the main one is frozen?

I agree that something’s very wrong here. :( For all a person knows, they could never get their main account back, or have no idea as to how long the wait might be, so ya might as well play around on a side to amuse yourself, ya know? Its hardly called "using multiple accounts to gain neopoints" when the other account is frozen. :roll:

Its like there’s no way to win anymore, its always a catch-22.

Oh man, talk about a lose-lose situation. That really is a slap in the face you know? Write and tell you that you weren't scamming, sorry .. oh, by the way you're frozen anyway.

I have talked to people on the boards, etc. when they've had an account frozen, have sent the form in and are waiting for a response. I do normally suggest that they not do much of anything on their spare/alias account ... just in case. In your case, you actually got a response in a week -- that's amazing!

I'd definitely write back and politely (grit your teeth if you have to) explain that you were in no way trying to break any rules, nor were you "multi-accounting", that this was an older account and since your main account was frozen , you had no access to it and you had no idea how long or if it would be returned to you, that you thought you would be allowed to play games on the account (or maybe you could say that you decided to make this other account your main account and when the old main was returned that would become a secondary account).

I had my first account frozen (was scammed), waited awhile, started another account, played games, started a shop, etc. then the other one was returned to me. But it took a few months for that to happen. Maybe that's why I never had the multiple accounts problem. The returned account did then become a secondary account.

TNT was supposed to be updating the T&C on multiple accounts over a month ago. Guess they either forgot, haven't gotten around to it or haven't finished it?

I know I got a response on multiple accounts awhile back - don't have it anymore, had a computer crash. I was told no dailies, rs, scratchcards, games or shop on other accounts. I send, either via send to neofriend or via the tp food, etc. from my main to my other account. I have no idea if it's actually ok anymore to use the tp for this, but I can't imagine that it wouldn't be. I don't see why we can't send things back and forth between accounts anyway. I do understand not playing games/restocking/having a shop on other accounts and definitely agree with not sending np from other accounts to your main.

I'd be surprised if I didn't know better. I've read seen over and over again TNT saying that since your account is kaput and they will never return it, that you're free to start all over again. That's really pushing the boundaries of stupid right there.

What? There's no rule against multiple accounts. Neopets Terms and Conditions say you can have up to 4.

Well, technically, it wasn't known that the account wasn't going to be returned. The thing is, usually you either don't get a response, get a response months later after you've moved on or a response saying no. That's not bashing staff, that's saying I don't think there's enough staff.

mercurius, yes you can have a total of 5 accounts, but you can only earn np on one account. So, apparently, whoever the staff person was who looked into this saw that some games had been played and decided that Kiyone was "multi-accounting".

I still think you should write back and stand your ground. For the principle of it if nothing else.

This seems to have been happening a lot recently, an account frozen for one thing and then straight after the problem being solved it is frozen again for a different reason and one which is much more difficult to get out of. Sorry to hear about that though :( Best wishes in getting it all sorted out.
