At the same time I got that letter, my new Lenny disappeared, a few minutes after its creation (but not before I got the av for feeding it a spooky food, which of course was the reason I'd created it on my Spooky Team account in the first place).

The heinous name of the pet? PreviewAdsForContent.

I really don't think the "message" of the name is what got me into trouble. I had decided some time back that when I make Shoyrus, Lennies, and Kacheeks for the avs on accounts that have room, I might as well toss in a comment about the excessive ads, and I've never before had any problem as I kept the pet for the requisite week before delivering it to the pound. I forget most of the names, alas, but TooManyAds the Kacheek is still there after more than seven months, and GripingAboutBanners the Lenny not only still exists after more than five months, but has been adopted.

So if it wasn't the comment about making sure ads are acceptable before allowing them onto Neopets, what was the problem? It's just my guess, mind you, but I think it was the w from 'preview' combined with the next word, Ads. In some contexts, "wad" or "wads" can have a sexual connotation. A human being, of course, would have read the Lenny's name as "preview ads for content," but a program checking recently created pets for forbidden patterns could certainly be set off by such an accidental juxtaposition.

(After all, my guild posts won't go through if I forget & make a reference to "Weaponnegg's hit points." Sigh.)

I'd have to agree - It's just sad we can't complain about their ads in our pets names now ;) LOL.

It's the word wads in the name. I remember a few people getting warnings for it ages ago while posting "Wads of cash" on the Neoboards. A bot did it, automatically searches certain words of "a profane nature"

It's probably a warning bot. It just searches for words and if your file or pet has it, you get a warning and/or get it deleted. I got my file, alereterofscams, deleted for that last word, but all I was going to do on it was alert people of scams. I don't think it matters how you use the word, or if you even meant the word to be there, they'll just delete you.

Yeah there are definatly alot of words they ban now a days.

The sad part is you still see those words in alot of the typing games.
I have seen a few very naughty ones.

on a side note I picked up TooManyAds from the pound and I will lab her for a while :)

Hmm, well if the word wad or wads is being found as a bad word, it is possible that typing wadjet could get you a profanity warning. I know for the longest time you couldn't type the word cookie, hit (as in hit points), you can't type java and someone -don't remember who- got a warning/all posts cleared for typing H4K. 40 or 40s, or was it 40's? got a warning, I think that was our own Morningstar in a neomail.

I don't understand the warning/freezing, etc. of a player for typing a word that is actually on the site and I really don't understand some of the words that are allowed/not allowed in the spelling games. Some are so completely innnocent, others if you typed them on the boards you'd be gone - not just warned, but frozen.

I am sorry your pet was deleted and the reasoning could be the word wad or it could be that it was seen as criticizing the site - you know that's not allowed.

Argh. Their content filters are too strict in some areas, but not enough in others. Next thing you know words like "darn," "jeez," and "shoot" won't be allowed. *eyeroll*

I'd definitely contact them to ask what was wrong with the name, to say that I saw nothing offensive in it, and to ask that the warning be removed from the record.

"Java" isn't allowed? o_O I'm 28 and not exactly innocent or sheltered. I've never heard a profane, sexual or offensive use of the word before. Am I totally missing something here?

Hi! I'm 28 too! :) *shakes hand*

The only thing I can imagine wrong with Java, is that in (the computer language) java it is possible to create cheat-programs like cookiegrabbers. But it's a bit lame to ban the name of the language then...

Yeah, that doesn't really make sense to ban the name. Banning instead the code for embedding it makes sense. (And they've probably done it, too.)

*shrugs*

Well, nice to meet you, Zenial!

I do believe it was a bot. I got the exact same thing when I made a pet with the word Cheat in it. Notice that older pets are allowed to keep thier pets with such names (like Cheatchampion) but no new ones are allowed to be made.

They warned Morningstar for saying she was "40+", because a warning bot picked it up as "hot", or something like that.

And yeah, I'd definately complain to TNT about that.
