I was looking on ebay and someone has their Neopets account for sale. http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZstepha ... s16QQhtZ-1

I was just thinking of reporting this to TNT, but I wonder, can they really do anything about it?

Anyone have any advice for this?

If they found out what account it was, the account would be frozen.

Selling/buying accounts violates the TOS.

Yes, it is 100% against the rules.

And TNT has had eBay take all auctions like that down.

You can report it, but I'm not sure how you'd do that. I've never reported one before :P

O that is just appalling! 1st of all, not to sound like I am saying this is alright .. but who in their right mind would spend 75$ on 400k in neopoints, I get that much in a 2 week period, that is just ridiculous. 2nd, what kind of person would take advantage of people like that.

I do hope whoever is the culprit gets their just desserts!

Now let's see if they fall for it and give me the username :D

I know that selling accounts is totally wrong, but had to say that is a LOT of cash for 400K and labbed pets. Am I wrong to be surprised at the price of $75?

lol I was thinking that same thing, who in their right mind would be paying $75 for an account like that? But yes, it is reportable on Ebay and Neopets.

I let a couple of my bestfriends use my ebay account to auction off items from time to time [because I had lots of feedback and a credit card while they didn't] and one day my friend listed all ner neopoints and her collection of rare books. Her email was in the auction listing. Both her and my neopet accounts were frozen [I'm guessing they got my email from ebay, which was the same as I used for neopets], but she had agreed with one girl to sell them before the auction ended and the points and items were transferred before the account was frozen. I don't know if the buyers account was frozen too or not, nor do I remember the price.

So they do indeed punish those who do this. This was years ago though.

I used to see auctions for neopoints or accounts back when I was buying Neopets merchandise on eBay. That sounds like the rates they used to ask. Neopets/eBay do watch for that kind of thing. Neopets has to defend their copyrights for any mid-range violation or they won't be able to defend it for larger violations. [insert law dissertation on copyright law here ;)] From what I understand, if Neopets (or any company) finds an auction that violates their copyrights, they can request contact information (email addresses, names, etc.). If they can match up that info to any accounts, buh-bye!

I'm guessing a large portion of the NPs sold were scammed out of people. It takes a lot of time to earn NP honestly. The time it took me to earn my NPs and other stuff is worth a lot more to me than any $75 (or any amount) someone could offer me for it.

[insert general grumbling about people who buy/sell points/accounts here]
