(Sorry if this is in the wrong board, I wasn't sure where to post this but I thought General Chat would be the best one!)

Anyway...I recently started working on my gelert's page so I could enter it in Site Spotlight once it's done. It's not completely done yet, but the layout is finished. Any advice? I want to make sure it has a good chance of winning before I enter it (I probably won't be doing that for at least another week or two). I'd love to hear your opinion on it. :P

Here's the link to it:

The red font on the far left of the central box really clashes with the green :P Perhaps make it slightly darker?

Apart from that it looks quite good :D

Ok a bit of advice from teh Noo!

-The gelert in the pic is looking a bit grainy - you could get somebody to help you with making a new pic
-Maybe add a bit more content on strawberry things - the information on there is a bit too basic at the moment
-Instead of linking to the Rainbow Pool front page, instead you could link to the strawberry pets page, or even better post the pets that can be painted on our sebsite because it shows you have put more effort into it

:) That's all I can think of at this moment in time and hope this is helpful to you.

Yeah, I was planning on putting more strawberry items in and probably posting the strawberry pets pictures. Thanks!

I'm also thinking of requesting artwork of my gelert. She isn't strawberry yet, but I'm very close to getting enough NP (only about 15k-ish) :D

Well, if you're sure, than okay. I'll save it to my own server, though.

Cute theme!

The color contrast between the red text and green background is messing with my eyes, though. Perhaps either a darker green or a darker red would help a little.

It might be browser differences, but I'm seeing the link text as being much smaller than the rest. Seems to break up the flow a little. Have you considered making it a similar size to the rest of the text?

Also, you may want a little more padding inside the green area around your text so that the text isn't pushed up against the edge of the text area. Padding around it will make it easier to read and more pleasing to the eye. I can't remember the code for that, but I know it's out there somewhere.

I hope this helps!

[edit: I noticed that the links change to a really nice dark red when you hover over them. That color is easier to read than the other red, even though it's not as bright.]

Thanks for the advice! I'll try using a darker red text. (The links were actually supposed to be brown - I'll have to use a hex code, the computer's version of "brown" is like a pinkish color on mine.)

By the way, you mentioned the links were smaller than the rest of the text? That's strange, on my computer they're the same size.

Just thought I'd make it a bit more spacey. Can do the same for your background if you want? I don't mind doing graphic help, makes the time go by quicker :)

Nah, that's alright. Thank you for the awesome banners though! :D I think I'd feel bad if I won, but all the graphics were made by someone else.

lol I enjoy making graphics for others to use, I do it on an mIRC forum I'm a member of too. So don't worry about using it, it's what I made it for :)

:P I'm using the one with the lighter colors, and I changed the background to a lighter background to match it. I think it actually looks nicer, it's not as painfully bright anymore. XD I'll just change the font color to a lighter red and I'll alter the background so the strawberries are a light red to match.
