I'm just playing around throwing out numbers here, maybe someone will think of something. I think the 104,034 might be just a useful number for the next LC. My math is not guaranteed to be correct.

In LC#132 the scroll repository had a footprint of 100 blocks x 100 blocks. (despite the picture showing a smal step in near the middle) So there would have been 338,350 blocks in the scroll repository, if it was solid blocks.

If only the outside layer of blocks was actually there (totally hollow) there would be 19,801 blocks.

If each handful of sand is equal in volume to a block, and the sand that covered the repository overnight was actually ground-up blocks from inside the pyramid, the hole inside would be... a pyramid shaped space between 67 and 68 blocks high or a cube-shaped space about 47 blocks to a side.

btw, does anyone think that our favourite fortune teller should have said something different by now?

Not until Evil Adam (and his princessly co-hort Donna) decide it is time...I think the sand thing was a timed activity to keep us busy, and the release of the empty gift shop, as is the # of handfuls of sand something to keep us searching and guessing until they release a new clue and also to allow more players to catch up - only 7,000 or so out of millions of players so far isn't very good participation lol. Patience seems to be the key here for now.

Does she say anything different? Mine still the same old story.

I went through the Lost Dersert TCG again (out of boredom of waiting) and there is some pretty neat stuff in there. I really want to see this in the plot *Tonu Desert Strider*

I thought the number looked rather small considering the efforts folks were puting forth.

I decided to do a little math. I picked a conservative number of 20 for the average number of handsful of sand-- last I'd seen the highest number of piles carried by someone was 60 (though there was quite enough time after for that to have changed significantly), but figured to err towards the assumption that more people had slower pets. So 20 seemed a safe bet.

I took this and divided 104,034 by it and got ~5202 (5201.7). So with a conservative number of piles carried away, we only had 5200 people carrying? From all around the world? I found that difficult to believe (though it's feasable, I'm a skeptic).

I don't honestly know if my conservative number was too high, but if it's too low, that number of folks is even lower!

Which really leads me to two conclusions about 104,034: it's arbitrary or it's a clue.

i had a three-hour wait time, only collected sand every now and then, and walked away with 14 piles. i consider my sand count to be amongst the lower numbers. seeing as so many people collected 40 or more, i'd say that your estimate might even be a little low! so i'd guess that there were even fewer diggers, based on that number.

which is why i think the number is a clue. the rest of the clue may not be released yet, however. you know how TNT is.

lol.. i wonder this whole thread can last for how long.. i mean, its still at the begining of the plot, and its already closing to 50..

Yeah, that's why I wanted to go with an estimate leaning towards a lower number of piles. I figured it would give me a reasonable upper bound.

And considering the total number of piles, as well as the rough upper bound on how many folks contributed (whether carrying 1 pile or 100), seemed too small, I ruled out it being a genuine number of how many piles were /actually/ collected by players.

The only problem with this line of speculation regarding the number of diggers is that we actually have no real way of knowing how many players were digging or how many times they each dug. I probably only managed 10 or less piles since I had a 2 1/2 hour wait and other stuff that kept me away from the computer. Maybe 104034 just gives us something to talk about until the next actual clue is released.

I would be interested to see if anything would happen if someone with a physical scroll visited the scroll repository.

hmm think i need to catch up. I havent read my scroll yet. Are everyones libraries different or could someone give me a hint where i can find my fer (paw) scroll I think im being a bit optimistic hoping theyre the same

Fer is in the river library. The list of were all the scrolls are is listed below the pictures of the library. I missed them too.
