I wanted to know what the door to the statue looked like I mean is it a door or just a hallway because I have been mapping forever and haven't found it. Then again caution tells me not to go in any of the doors so that maybe why I haven't found it. o_O

It's a closed door like the others -- the verse at the start of your temple will tell you the shape & color (see details in the first post of the thread), but it'll be trial-&-error for you to find which of the 12 doors (one for each hieroglyph) your "statue" is behind.

Yeah. Maybe those weren't scarabs that were piled on our pets. Maybe they were dung beetles. ^_^

Um, scarabs are dung beetles. (And scarabugs are likely the Neopian equivalent.)

Instead of referring to the scroll repository, Elric wrote:
The Suppository

You keep calling it that. Is that some kind of . . . innuendo?

I call it Suppository because we are all trying to think of what is going to, or what is supposed to happen in the repository. So any supposing we do about the repository, and the place that we are doing all the supposing about, I call Suppository.

Gosh, what are YOU thinking about?! ^_^

I think the "shi" text is short for shiny.

I'm not sure how to put pics in here and I just got sand so now I'd have wait an hour to get the pic of the repository again but mine does look shiny. does anyone else see the glimmers of light along the left side of the pyramid.?

I'm telling you, suppository is the contraction of suppose and repository. That's all. :D

OKay, I think I should rephrase that. If you want to know what suppository is , don't ask anybody that you still want to talk to sometime in the future.

Theories along this line, just don't make sense to me. I would have presumed it worked on a "hit" basis. That is why someone that has taken 1 pile sees the same as someone that has taken 50.

Overall, the group effort is uncovering the repository but individual "hits" are counted towards a personal total.

Similar to beating a boss in the Battledome during a war. All individual hits add to your score, with the group effort going towards defeating the opponent.

The point of these clues is to solve the puzzle. It isn't going to be solved by sitting on our hands and saying: "I'll just wait a couple of days and let TNT do it for me".

I think you're correct since the frequency which you can revisit the depository at is connected to your pet's stats - maybe the more piles of sand you dig are related to "war points" or something similar.

Ahem...Elric could be Adam deflecting our poo-related guesses! ;)

I like pie.

This is why I am stockpiling handfuls of sand. There has to be some reason why we have them. They can't just be for naught.

See, that's why consulting dictionaries is a good idea.

I'm surprised nobody else has suggested the idea (unless I missed it), but it seems that it's just as likely that the moving the sand does absolutely nothing in relationship to uncovering the Repository. I have the suspicion that if nobody did anything it would still be uncovered to the current extent.

I really don't think one has anything to do with the other.

I never made, nor implied, the suggestion to wait. All I said was that chances are gathering the sand had no real relationship to uncovering the Repository.

That doesn't mean collecting the sand doesn't have some meaning besides a delay tactic. It can easily ALSO function as a scoring system. Just as stronger people defeated stronger pirates or underwater folk in the last Event, and therefore got more points, perhaps, at least in part, how much sand you /move/ is one factor that affects the score you get in the end.

All I was dealing with as far as my hypothesis was concerned was the apparent causal relationship between the sand gathered and how uncovered the Repository was (feh... typed Suppository there AGAIN :P). The general concensus, based on what people were posting, seemed to be that we were all "actively" uncovering it; I posited the hypothesis that there was no necessary relationship between the two. Neither is more likely than the other.

But, basically, my hypothesis is not mutually exclusive with the concept of scoring by how many handsful of sand one's pet carries.
