There is, but you can get well over 900 without it.

There are basically two secrets, and you need at least one to get into the 900s with the bat.

Just click (and hold) the mouse and observe what happens, that's the basic clue.

Also, did anyone else notice that they messed up with the spot for the pet spotlight? The HTML is messed up and it should say "we have a few new poems (or something like that)". And then a separate paragraph talking about the pet spotlight. (i.e. "first pet spotlight of the week is...")
