Continue with all the plotting here :)

Previous thread: http://www.pinkpt.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=20778

- The plot
- The Fortune Teller
- The Temple of One-Thousand Tombs

Here is an example of a map: http://tim.arlott.com/jas/tombmap.jpg
It is Jasujo's map that she made using the grid method posted by Cerise. Of course, there are many methods, this is just one to give you an idea.

Here is a handmade map by XenaAndGabrielle: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v613/ ... ap-XaG.jpg
with an explanation of how she goes about it here.

Here is another map made by Twisted Sanity, who uses yet another mapping method: http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y31/te ... ombmap.gif

Known Facts:

Eveyone's tomb, doors, and phrases are different.

Your tomb is the same to you each time you enter it.

All passages seem to be two way. You should be able to return to the room you came from. The door may not be in the same position, but one of the doors will return you. Some passages loop and may lead you to the same rooms over and over. Not everyone has a loop in their tomb, but if you do it's okay, just mark it and continue mapping.

There are three library doors and one statue room in each tomb. In the libraries, you can read a scroll, but the effects haven't been found yet. The statue asks for a prophecy, but the correct one hasn't been found yet.

Library doors
Image Image Image

The libraries should have these scrolls:

river - Fer, Djo, Tep, Kar
maze - Ben, Lat, Saf, Nem
astral - Ra, Set, Ahn, Kha

Here is an image posted my mcgeorge on neoitems displaying all the symbols and scrolls with their names.

Here is a post listing the item descriptions of each of the scrolls.

There are about 85 rooms, 5 doors in each room (a few might have a blank wall), and a total of around 425 doors.

If you read a scroll, you can't enter for 12 hours. If you get caught in a trap, you can't enter for 1-3 hours and your pet may temporarily be turned to a pile of sand.

There are 6 door colors and 4 door shapes. The riddles will only tell you the color and shape of the door you need.

Shapes:
A humble portal of stone (rectangle) [just a regular old door]
Mouth of the river (triangle) [think about it ... the place where a river starts will look like a triangle ... because it starts flowing out]
The aspect of a star (pentagon) [5 sides to a standard star]
Window into the soul (oval) [your eyes are ovalish]

Colors:
Blinding radiance of the sun (yellow) [the sun]
Thunderous clouds obscuring the sky (black) [makes it dark]
The waking dawn on the dunes (red) [at dawn, thing all look red]
Banks of the mighty river (green) [everything is green on the banks]
Kingdom of the lightgiver (blue) [the sky is the sun's (lightgiver's) kingdom ... and it is blue]
Bright guardian of the night (silver) [The moon is sort of silverish]

The combination does not tell you which symbol you need, but does limit your search to 12 possible doors to find your statue in.

After you find the Nuria faerie statue and go back to your library and read the scroll with the symbol that was on the statue's base, your pet now understands it. Nothing else has been seen to come of this as of yet, though.

The fortune teller's phrase has changed to: "I see ancient pharaohs laid at rest." You supposedly need to visit her and see this before moving on.

Then if you play a game of Pyramids, at the end you should see a parchment on the bottom of your screen. This looks to be a clue to rooms as each column has a number, color, symbol, and shape.

If you go the room under the single dot that your parchment describes, you will get an RE which gives you a dirty stone piece. Take that to the toy repair shop and you get a piece on your tablet. If you then go to the fortune teller, her phrase is changed:

"So... you've returned," she says. "Something remarkable is happening. I am receiving many images in my crystal ball, images of strange, distant places..."

"...yet I can't make out these images just now. Perhaps something will appear soon. You may view the Mysterious Tablet if you wish."

If the dirty stone piece that you get from your trapped room ends up being destroyed by Donny at the Toy Repair Shop (he sometimes has trouble cleaning it for some reason), then all you will need to do is go back to the temple immediately. Do not wait. You will receive a new piece that you can bring to Donny to try cleaning up.

A while after the first piece of your tablet is filled in, the fortune teller changes to this clue: "I see debris on a frigid battlefield."

That leads you to play a game of Snow Wars (not the flash game, the original HTML Battleship-like one), after which you should find your second parchment. On this one, you find the door under the double dots.

After the second piece, the fortune teller changes again, "I see a rivalry of five."

That leads you to place a bet and feed one of the poogle in Poogle Races to get the third parchment once you've placed your bet. On the third parchment, you find the door under the triple dots.

After the third piece, the fortune teller gives the next clue: "I see fortunes cast upon the waters."

This leads you to go to the Underwater Cavern. Simply go fishing, and you'll find the fourth parchment. You'll find the door under the four dots.

For the fifth clue, go to the fortune teller and get this message: "I see countless eyes." Then lose at Potato Counter and that gives you your next parchment. Find the door under the five dots and you're on your way.

On the sixth clue, the fortune teller says: "I see a great deal of fun." If you spin the Wheel of Mediocrity, then try to spin a second time, you'll get your sixth parchment. Find the door under the six dots to get the next piece.

On the seventh clue, the fortune teller will tell you "I see a rule that must be broken" Go to the Lever of Doom, and a pull will get you the parchment. You must have 100np on hand. The door under the seven dots will get your next piece.

The eighth clue, you are told: "Today's lotto number is [numbers]" Go to Kreludor, and fill in the Mining Corp. with the numbers, different to everybody. This'll get you the eighth piece of parchment, which will tell you which room to go to beneath the eight dot header.

For the ninth clue, the fortune teller says: "I see a tournament that rolled on." Go to The Krawk Island Deckball Championships. Then click on Players. If you scroll down, you will see Prince Jazan's name. Click on it and you will get your parchment. Follow the door under nines dots.

For the tenth clue, the fortune teller says: "I see a chia resting by a tree." Have one of your pets take a Tiki Tour. Your parchment should be on the first page after you sign up for the tour. Find the door under the ten dots.

For the eleventh clue, the fortune teller says: "I see you lost in the darkness." Play a game of Fetch while seeking any Faerie Dust (refresh the request screen until you get that for your quest.). Your parchment should appear at the lose screen (you do not need to find the item). Find the door under the eleven dots.

For the twelvth clue, the fortune teller says: "I see you giving into your dreams." Wish for a Hieroglyph Fragment at the Wishing Well and make a donation. Follow the door under the twelve dots.

Also, it seems the new clues are coming out at about 1:30 and 7:30 NST, every six hours.

Completed your Tablet?
Once you have done that, go and look at the first 3 comics for the plot. The symbols are embedded within the comic! Here's a list of where you can find the appropriate symbols:

LAT & FER (cup & paw) on 1-1
KHA (fish) on 1-2
SAF (the Y-thing) on 1-3
----------------
AHN (ankh) on 2-1
SET & RA (pillar & sun) on 2-2
TEP (eye) on 2-3

-------------------
DJO (2 flags) on 3-1
BEN (chick) on 3-2
NEM (river) on 3-3
KAR (leaf) on 3-4

If you hover over them, you can click it. Click them in the order as you see on your tablet, reading LEFT TO RIGHT, Top row to Bottom Row. If a symbol comes up 2x in a row, click it twice. 3x, click it 3x. (etc) Once you have done that correctly, a pop up will come up. It redirects you to the tablet, with an avatar + a translation to what the tablet means. Surprise, surprise, everyone's translation's are slightly different!

Now, go to the room that had the faerie in it. Tell it the translation that you were given to the statue. At the next screen, be sure to scroll all the way down. It's a bit long, but it's interesting.

Once you have submitted your translation, you will end back up in front of the statue. You can get out of that room by submitting an incorrect translation. You'll incur the regular lockout time and then start back in front of the tomb.

The Lost Desert map has changed and Sakhmet as well as other places have disappeared.

Sometime later, the Fortune Teller lets you in to a little gossip she's overheard.

She calls out to you again as you turn to leave. "Oh! I almost forgot. I heard something about a few of Princess Amira's ministers, who were outside of Sakhmet when it vanished. They're going to get that new scroll repository finished so that they can use it as a library, and try to figure out how to bring Sakhmet City back. I don't know when the project is starting, though."

Out of nowhere, random pieces of tablet seem to have disappeared off of some people's completed tablets with no explaination. Is it a part of some curse or the Fortune Teller being negligent with the tablet?

Something tells me the next bit of information will come with the new Random Contest (tomorrow) although I don't think you would have to enter to win. That would be mean!

The repository is buried under sand, so says the last LC. Maybe we're gonna have to dig for it!

I tried going to my Statue Scroll again and got

Quote:
You tentatively step forward and take one of the scrolls.

Your pet understands the scroll and gains a little insight.
Then a trap door opens under your feet and you find yourselves thrown out of the temple onto the desert sands.

Nothing new there

I'm bored, so I've been making a list of all the places the comics are buggy. I'm sure it doesn't mean anything, but maybe someone who's even more bored than me can try superimposing them or something :P

(From the old thread:)

There's a very small spot on Tomos, on the line between his shirt and chest, at the bottom right of 4-3.
There's a very small spot on Horace the Poor, under his left eye, at the top of 4-3.
Nabile's tail at the top left of 5-4.
Black spot above the eye of the Mummy at the mid-bottom left of 5-4.
Cobrall eye on Jazan's hat, mid right of 5-4.
Various places on the face of the skeleton at the very bottom right of 5-4.

(New ones:)

Bottom left corner of Jazan's cape - bottom left of 4-2
Black line at top left of foreground ruins - bottom left of 4-2
Cybunny's notepad - top left of 4-2
Bottom left corner of rectangular part of right foreground ruins - bottom left of 4-2

Top right of uni's chest strap - middle right of 4-3

Left of Tomos' eye - top left of 3-1
Between uni and dust (top corner) - top left of 3-1
Kink in black line in dust - top left of 3-1
Both sides of Nabile's waist - bottom left of 3-1

...That's it for now. I think I'm gonna go play games instead.

P.S.: Did anyone else notice that the bottom panel of 4-4 has a lot of copy/pasting? :P

In the previous thread, Rune said she was analyzing the comics for embedded links. I know she didn't find anything in Ch. 5, but does anyone know if she posted about any of the others?

Compiling some working theories and thoughts here isn't a bad idea, as the splits seem to make it a litle overwhelming to find "good" info. :P

There was another post, from someone who had extracted the link from the symbols... here:
http://www.pinkpt.com/forum/viewtopic.p ... ht=#449472

and poses the possibility that it might be used to enter a clue, as some URLs were in previous plots. I believe it also helps to debunk the "numbers in the clouds" theory.

Another list from the previous thread (credit greenbugsy) of phrases tried at the end of the fortune teller link:
scroll
scrolls
library
scroll_library
scroll_repository
repository
gift_shop
shop
qasala
qasala_ruins
sakhmet

Lenny Conundrum texts:
Quote:
With all of these ancient scrolls being discovered around the Lost Desert, the city of Sakhmet needs to build a place to store them all and keep them safe! It has been determined by city engineers and architects that a huge stone pyramid, painted gold, would be a fitting storehouse for such treasures of knowledge!

Quote:
Shortly after the Scroll Repository pyramid was completed (see the previous Lenny Conundrum), a huge sandstorm swept through the Lost Desert, partially burying the pyramid. In fact, exactly 58% of the surface area of the freshly-painted pyramid was obscured by sand.

And the unreleased avatar, because although not intended to be a clue, avatars frequently contain images to remind us of what we did to get them, therefore it may be a "backwards" clue of sorts:
avatar images broken down
Snak:--Edited out, not working & stretching page--

Edit: The link to the broken down image appears not to work, so here's another set, posted by punkykat:

Ok I'm not good at these type of things but I will just point out some observations and maybe the thinkers can do something with them.
I saw a link to a frame by frame of the parchment avie that's not out yet and something struck me as odd. They go through all twelve dots but only have two clues after the dots.

Ex: dot #, symbol, color, but no shape. They are not uniform either its not like they just put the symbol & color up for all of them each has only two of the three clues listed.

At first I thought they did this so you would see examples of all three but since it was going so fast you would not notice that all three clues to each dot weren't there, but then I went back to the parchments. I remember when I started getting the parchments that it was strange that they didn't put the clues in better order.

Ex: the second row all the way across colors, the next row all the way across symbols, and the last row all the way across shapes.

Even though we would only use the information under one dot at a time it seems like it should have been more orginazed. The dots themselvs were all in the same row.

Well I don't know if there is a conection or not but then I'll leave that up to the rest of you.

hi everyone... I have been endlessly searching out of boredom this evening.

I really feel that the additional clue the fortune teller is giving us, is Neopets saying... "Hang on", but I may be wrong.

I found a neat article in the Neopian times issue193 about the lost desert. I haven't deciphered anything from it, and I believe it was written just by a user. However, I thought some of you may want to read it. Search for desert in the Neopian Times.

I agree that it seems odd that the remainder of the parchments aren't in order, but I can't see any pattern with mine - they appear to be random.

The avatar contains one of each color, shape and glyph (symbol.) #10 contains two symbols and #12 is blank. I can see that one set of dots would have to contain two glyphs, to make it come out right. (You would run out of colors and shapes before running out of glyphs.) But why use it at #10? Why not wait till #11, then let #12 be blank? o_O

I didn't notice that one already, but now that you mention it... :P

As someone else calculated in a previous thread: 4 shapes + 6 colors + 12 symbols = 22, so they're 2 things short... Why didn't they arrange everything a bit else then? I don't know... probably cause it just looked nice this way, it all flashes so fast that it doesn't really matter that there's nothing after the 12 dots anymore, so I think it's all just for esthetic reasons and does not contain any kind of clue... but that's just me of course.

I've said this once ... but I want to say it again.

My opinion: The avatar is not a *clue* ... since it is something that was found by url guessing. Let's not treat it as such.

My further opinion: I *do* believe we can try to backtrack *from* the avatar ... to figure out perhaps what we would need to do to get to a point where we *could* get the avatar.

The first problem, though ... is that there are no "extra" symbols in the avatar ... so it doesn't really help us much in terms of "what are some things we need to do before getting it. I don't think we can read much into the order that things flash in it, either. It is just all parchment symbols that are flashing along and looks "cool"

Does this mean our parchments are might be used for more important than just getting the tablet pieces? It would seem weird, since we can't get to those parchments again unless we saved them. (I did save mine ... but I haven't compiled them into a nice image like stampsyne, though). I've started at them trying to see some other pattern, but haven't come up with anything, yet.

Another point, is that it does say "Parchment puzzler" at the end ... We should "backward thought brainstorm" what that could mean. Perhaps we do need to do more with our parchments. Of course ... it might mean we just have to do something completely different with our tablet, as well. We used the parchment to get the hieroglyphs ... but maybe we need to do more with the hieroglyphs (which only this ancient repository can start us on the right track)

Perhaps the LC is giving us a small "hint" on what is to come, as well. We all randomly filled our tablets in different orders. How did we "know" where to put each piece? There are many many different combinations of the symbols that we could have chosen ... but for some reason we filled our tablets up in some "random" fashion. If we were able to put them in the "right" order ... our prophecy might be completely different.

Which means ... perhaps this repository will have some sort of mechanism by which we can start "understanding" more of the scrolls ... and therefore ... we might be able to figure out a better way to place the hieroglyphs .... and then get the right prophecy.

Again, just my opinion. I could be wrong. This scroll repository is going to be the next big thing, I would guess.

It does say the advisors were "outside Sakhmet" Well, any other place in Neopia is "outside Sakhmet" Perhaps they weren't even in the Lost Desert!

Bed time for me. Just wanted to give my thoughts.

i decided to enter the random contest even though i wasn't sure what they wanted . . .here's what i submitted, let me know what you guys think:

title: poor prince jazan

The temple was originally built by Prince Jazan so he could hide all his precious scrolls and use the temple as his grand palace. Unfortunately he never thought to keep the blueprints or map his tomb, so he got lost. This is why he is now a zombie neopet and is rather angry that he missed out on his wedding. Not eating for such a long time has left him quite cranky (he couldn't find the gift shop either). All those years alone have seriously affected his people skills.

i thought i'd make it a bit humorous
:P

I don't think it would be mean. Especially when we got the specific instructions that "EVERYONE'S A WINNER! " (their emphasis not mine) I think anyone who entered will get something that you need to further the plot. Guess we'll find out today!

Hey, notice the picture of the Temple of 1,000 tombs... it kind of looks like it's mostly buried in the sand! Do you think the temple itself is the scroll repository and the 3 libraries inside hold the key to the next clue?
