Really? Well, I guess searching for the item gives you an excuse to go back and forth 60 paces, that's why haha. Otherwise it's mind-numbing @_@

Yay. Finally had a chance to get back on. Did my normal thing ... tried it out on my own.

For "dreams" ... I really thought wishing well ... played around with it for a little bit, but of course it took awhile to ask for the right thing. I figured I should ask for the dirty stone ... and map ... a parchment ... and was having a rather hard time of it.

I finally tried the correct wish for a "Hieroglyph Fragment"

Yay! Got my 12th piece.

I think I've caught up with the reading the thread now ... but I am still locked out of the temple.

My first thought was reading the first scroll on the tablet .... but it seems stamp did this and didn't get any change in message

My second thought was saying the names of all the symbols on the tablet to the faerie, but it doesn't make that much sense without translation. I see someone else (I forget who) tried this, and it didn't work.

Anything that I should try?

Or do we assume that we will need wait for the "professor" to come along?

Ok, random question that probably has nothing to do with anything...

I've been looking at a few other people's maps, and noticed that their rooms didn't seem to form very long series - six at most. I have a series of 15 and another of 11. (I'm using series to mean rooms connected to each other by right/left arrows.)

For those who have done maps - what's your biggest series?

My biggest was 7 and the was the entrance hall; next biggest was 5.

I'm pretty close to that old coot in NQ so if they haven't reset the game(which they do randomly) then I'll test it out (it's not so bad for me since I connect at about T1 speed)

I also tried serching neopets for the name of the professor and any associated words that I could think of. Then looked through tons of item, descriptions, guilds, ULs, Pet lookups, but petpages are down so I couldn't check them. Still found nothing suspicios

Just sit back and wait for more comics or for someone to randomly find something.

well, I just want to try something random that someone else didn't try. :) Especially since lock out times for scrolls is 12 hours. Maximize our effort.

Did someone say they knew somethingabout Hieroglyph reading? Do you actually read them left to right? Or do you do it in some other way?

Just a thought ... maybe start at the bottom right? Just brainstorming.

I think the Egyptians read them from right to left.

It's 7:30! (sorta)

I tried an anagram site with my tablet (mine came out to nemkhaahnahntepratepkhalattepsetbenlatdjonemlat) ;) but there were so many words I couldn't find a sentence that would make sense for a prophecy.

Oh, they do? I was just remembering the necklace my grandparents got me from egypt which was lengthwise, and flashbacking to my old history classes. We had to draw things out up and down. Maybe they just wrote names that way....hmm, I can't remember! Oh well....

I was going to try reading the tiles phonetically to my faerie statue. Who says she speaks English, she old! But it if already has been tried...

I am NOT just gonna wait for more clues. As soon as I am no longer locked out; I'm trying something!

I guess playing with the statue is the "least amount of lockout time" I'll play a little with her.

I thought the Egyptians read vertically? I could be wrong, though.

This is kinda wierd. My tablet makes perfect sense when you translate it using the guide on maraqua.net

Mortal man - Eternal - Eternal - Life
Carry - Carry - Sun - Rise
Carry - Life - Sun - Mortal man
Evil - hole - Eternal - Evil

Paraphrases to -

A mortal man will always try to gain immortality
He will use the sun's power at sunrise (or use the sun's power to rise above everyone)
Using the sun's power will gain him immortality
He will be evil forever.

If my last piece is an Ank (Life) it'd sound like a pretty good prophecy.

I have a question. I just went to the library and read my first scroll that my pet understood. So in 12 hours if I go visit the statue, will her symbol change so I'll know which scroll to read next?

Um, sorry bout that. It seems Thaddeus is from neoquest 2... which I haven't played since I beat it on insane(bad memories) :P
. . . so I guess I won't be able to rush right out and talk to her, But I am very good at that game. So if enough people think it is worth a try then I can bear through the whole first chapter in record time. . . but only if need be
