I broke down and bought the map yesterday for 130k and got nothing when I zapped.
Today, hovever...
Whoa... did it actually work? Sure looks like it. Your Petpet has been transformed. Imagine that.

ok, sorry if it has been asked here already, but, say you have a halloween puppyblew and it gets zapped to something else. I know they revert back when you remove them but will it go back to a regular puppyblew or stay halloween?

It should stay halloween. 
But just to make sure, you could go to the quick ref. page, click on the petpet you want to unattach and scroll down. There should be a picture of what the petpet currently is, then a picture of the scientist, and then the picture of what your petpet will turn back into if you remove it.

I would buy it since it's so cheap- I just don't have any reason for it. All my petpets are painted to match my pets, so there isn't much of a need to change the colors.
