Ergh...after MAraqua, I really might avoid this war altogether. Good to see a new plot, I guess. I can make a bit off the codestones in my SDB witht he war inflation.

I will take part in the war, just for the extra war award on my lookup. 
Though I'll really, really hate it if they bring back the ranking system.

I'm with you Jasujo. I knew (as did most of us) that a Lost Desert plot was in the works, but I didn't expect it to happen now. I'm sooooo not prepared! Not nearly enough np for a decent weapon upgrade, and I'd stopped training completely after dupe day since codestones were duped.
Plus I think the timing, starting a plot (and war?) right as the new school year starts is just not the best. Anyone in school should be concentrating on that and getting a good start, not sitting in class wondering what's happening with the plot and/or war.
All that aside, my desert aisha is thrilled that a plot's taking place in her "homeland". If there is a war and there's no ranks/don't have to choose just one pet (please?!), I'll actually let her battle (she's weak) just for fun.

Well, technically, we don't know if it will be a war; it could be a follow-the-clues type of event, like they did many times in the past.

I'm hoping that there's not battling involved whatsoever. Though I'm sure they'll find a way to infuriate everyone with their stupidity yet again.

I wouldn't call it stupidity ...I would call it laziness.
And maybe stick a little bit of "we want it to end as quickly as possible" attitude in there, as well.

Introducing the convoluted ranking system couldn't have been a result of laziness. Laziness was giving people with 0 points at the end of the Ice Caves the same prize as people with thousands. It took too much effort to make that war suck to qualify as laziness. They're either incredibly stupid or incredibly malevolent. And stupidity, or perhaps ignorance, is easier to remedy than malevolence.

Huggles, for some reason what you wrote had me giggling (I love intelligent sarcasm), while at the same time nodding in agreement.
The last war with the awful ranks was supposed to make things more "fair" for the new people - either new to the site or new to battling. However, all the other wars were open to new people and the only ones I ever saw complaining were the ones who couldn't be bothered to train or buy weapons (you don't have to spend millions on a set, especially if you're just starting). Some people just want something for nothing. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, TNT decided to pander to the whiners who cried "It's Not Fair that put uber pet/username here got so many points and got such great prizes and all I got was a t-shirt", not taking into account that the people who really DO look forward to wars are those of us who spend every np we can on training and on trying to get weapons. And the uber pets? How much time/how many millions have been spent getting those pets where they are?
Gets down off soggy cardboard box bus, climbs in and drives away.
I actually hope the LD is just a plot (no war) like Mystery Island was. Without the huge TP glitch/shutdown of course
