No no no you're all looking at this the wrong way!

You see, the person who wrote this mail is very probably not english. "Tsuami" might be the word for toilet paper in his language. And maybe in his culture it's a common way to wish someone good luck by saying 'may toilet paper wipe you clean'. So just maybe this person wanted to wish everybody in singapore good luck, so much that the earth itself would smile upon them. But not knowing much about english it turned out the sentence that he wrote to you...

:)

As much as I like to pass it off as a joke, or just to totally ignore it, that remark was not only uncalled for, but extremely hurtful to not only singaporeans(and I'll like to believe that we are well known for national pride, as are most other people.) but to also the victims of the Tsunami. This person wrote in such a way that it was as if he didn't care about those who have perished in that disaster. It's not my place to decide whether that person is cold-blooded or not; it's not up to me to know what that person is feeling or thinking about that event. Instead, I just wanted to know how many racist/ ill-mannered people actually exist on Neo... It's a terrible thing that even if one such person were to exist on a so-called "children's site".

Anyway, thanks for all the replies, I'm believe he's just going to get a warning I'm afraid, as I think it's a case of offensive comment, albeit a VERY racist one.

It disgusts me that anyone could not get banned for that...frankly it's disgusting that anyone would say that at all....

Especially since one of my best friends died in the tsunami...

I don't understand the motivation of these people. They just go around targetting people on the boards and sending them extremely hurtful neomails? That must come from a very troubled brain. o_O

I think it's their desire for attention fueled by insecurities from a troubled childhood that motivate them to use the anonymity of the internet to exert not only a cry for help, but also a weak and fabricated sense of power over something so as to feel they have control in their lives.

...that, or they're poopy heads with too much time.

I'm inclined to believe that it's not a troubles childhood from the past, but rather they're STUCK in the mentality of a child.

And another example:
Quote:
i have a super really sweet offer for your gallion plz reply

Me: i only want pure though

o you will like this p.s. how did u get that cybunny avatar plz reply

Me: how much are you offering?

And I got the cybunny av by playing Neoquest 1

ummm lets see a nerkmid a orange petpet p/b a baby aisha plushie a codestone and 10k plz reply p.s. how do i play neoquest 1

(A/N: ok... at this point, I was already annoyed that she totally ignores the mail earlier saying NOTHING ELSE other than I want pure only. and so...)

Me:I already said I wanted pure ONLY. Not interested in items unless you're overpaying by 2 times.Games room is where you play NQ

wat do u mean 2 times and how do i play it plz reply

Me: as in you pay twice what my gallion is worth in items. There is a guide on NQ on the game page itself. I'm not a robot designed to answer all your questions.

so like those items and 20k plz reply

Me:my gallion is worth 350k, your items only add up to about 100k.

wateveeee nooooob noooob nooooob

(Yes, I actually get mails like this on a regular basis)

Whatever happened to ending conversations on friendly notes? Has neo really degraded to name-calling just to "get the feel that you are better than that person"? Yes, this is not as bad as the previous one, but when people try to help you and you call names back at them, won't the other person feel incensed? No gratitude even.

Just appalled by the lack of manners on the site. It used to be a much better place where people could speak courteously and actually HAD manners. Not saying ever post had to have P's and Q's, but a thank you just makes so much difference.

I guess my message in between the lines was: There's no use getting all excited over a hateful comment someone makes. Who knows why someone would say such a thing? Who cares? The only thing he can do is smurf you off and if you are he succeeded...
Don't waste any more time and thought on this person, he's not worth it...

I would think that it would be more of a countryist comment than a racist one. And why bother with morons in the first place, most of them just try to get reactions from people.

Don't be silly. Five ply, extra thick, soft and luxurious with printed blue dolphin designs to provide that aqua fresh feeling with the middle layer lightly scented a spine tingling rose-lavender.

It's true- the respect level is very low on Neopets. I work for an adoption agency, so rude neomails come on a regular basis.

Neopets is a game, with little pixel pets. Your life is not ruined if you don't get what you want.

People need to grow up.
