There are some terrible rumours flying around that a Petpet Lab Ray has been released, and some map pieces leading to it. Heartless owners are zapping their poor Petpets left, right and centre with hap-hazard results.

I'm guessing it's not released it because if you go to this link : http://www.neopets.com/petpetlab.phtml it leads to a game.

Whoah, wait a minute....when I go to the treasure map page I see this:

Ignoring the fact tnt can't count people on the neoboards are saying that if you don't have the original lab ray on your account then you can't see that last one, ie the petpet one - is this true?

I'll look into it.

Hello lab map inflation

Well this sure makes me glad I bought mine a long, long time ago, back when they were only around 200k.

I hear that! I bought my Lab map for 100k... and I remember thinking it was expensive... I feel really bad for the people who don't have it now!

I'd assume so, seeing as that's how you get most of the other map peices...

And whoa, I'm glad I decided I'd randomly buy the lab map when the Fishing place came out. o__O;;

I feel so bad for the people who are saving up for a lab map :/ Not only will it push the prices up because of the petpet lab ray but it looks like the petpet lab ray has an avvie as well! I really hope neopets have thought this through and plan to make the lab map REs more common otherwise this whole thing is really going to stink inflation wise :/

In other news if you remove a changed petpet from your pet it will revert back to it's original form. That's good news for those who want to muck about with it and have their petpet turn into something nasty. Bad news for me though, as I doubt I'll ever use it now, heh.

Unfortunately the newness of it and the avatar will still clobber lab map prices, merf.
