Ok... I can't be the only one who listens to classical music here... soo, what are your favourite songs and who are your favourite composers?

I absolutely love Beethoven (omg, Sonata Pathetique, second movement... it's beautiful... not to mention Symphony No. 5, and other pieces like the Moonlight Sonata). I don't really have any other favourite composers, other than maybe Tchaikovsky (Swan Lake, 1812 overture and The Seasons for piano are nice) or Mozart (the Symphony in G minor, Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, etc.). Then again, I haven't listened to that much classical music, soo...

I'll take pretty much any classical music. (Though I am quite partial to slower songs.) I've liked classical music as a kid, though I don't listen to it as much as I'd like to anymore.

unfortunetly, my Classical library is shamefully lacking, with a couple compilations (of which only Grieg stands out in my head) and my Holst CD.

Mmmm, classical music. I love Beethoven, Mozart, Vivaldi, Bach, etc (although the last 2 are Baroque). Funny, my neighbourhood has a Beethoven, Mozart and a Schubert street.

I don't like the majority of what I've heard so far, but I think one of my definite favourites is the Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven.

I quite enjoy classical music, though I really have to be in a certain frame of mind to enjoy it fully.

#1 Favourite: Für Elise by Beethoven.

I was taught how to play alot of classics on the piano... That one was my favorite.

I used to like Prokofiev when I was younger. There was a play called Peter and the Wolf....

For historical significance, try Beethoven's Third. He was going to name it "An Bonaparte," you know, before Napoleon crowned himself Emperor. Then he changed it to "Eroica," for the heroics of the French Revolution that Napoleon betrayed. Beethoven was really cool, even without the morse code thing.

Now, in terms of actual listening, can't beat Orff. Although Mussorgsky, Tchaikovsky, Schubert and Beethoven are dang good. Well, everything of Tchaikovsky's that isn't Nutcracker. Bleah.

I like the one in Nutcracker named Waltz of the Flowers (I'm not sure about that name, I translated it from Chinese).

Argh, the Flight of the Bumble Bee song is stuck in my head now. My school plays it EVERY DAY on the announcements when they are warning people that they would be late for class.

I really like classical music, it's one of my favourite genres. My current favourite classical composition is Debussy's Claire de Lune, I love listening to that one.

Ooh, I've heard that one, it's really nice =D. A little too dreamy, though!

I also like the Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun by Debussy.

i enjoy listening to classical music and really want to expand my library as i dont have very much on CD. My all time favourite piece is Elgar's Cello concerto - one of my wishes is to someday be able to play it myself. i've played the orchestral cello part, but not the solo part. I also adore pachabels cannon, i could listen to it all day!

Some other pieces i like off the top of my head (most of which i've played and thats why i've heard them and liked them) are:
Brahm's Cello sonata (number 1 i think)
Fur Elise and Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven
The Dam Busters March, i dont know who its by
the old castle by mussorgsky
