Depends on whether or not you want to participate in a website that has users as a priority.

Personally, I do.

The page is no longer on PPT's main page, but you can find it on the website neoextreme.com. It was written by a person named Dana, according to the admin of neoextreme. I highly suggest reading it. Before I read it, I was quite wishy washy about the whole thing. After reading it, I am in. And you can ask anyone, I am not very easily swayed when it comes to changing my opinion.

I was just curious when I heard about it, but I actually got smurf off when I read the proposal. I plan to make use of all 7 e-mail accounts I have to send positive e-mails to sponsors and TNT. Like I said, if you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem, and I rather be an active part of the problem.

Happy with Neopets

You are missing the point completely. We wouldn't be doing this if we didn't love the game. I mean, honestly, why waste your time complaining about something you hate?

I plan on writing positive things to Neopets and the sponsors--along with my complaints. I want to show Neopets that I love the game, am a dedicated player, and want to keep playing the game as long as I can--but am frustrated with the poor customer service policy, the glitches, and the need for more employees.

Very well said, Morningstar! This isn't about people who hate Neo and want to destroy it, this is about people who love the game and don't want to see it be destroyed.

sadly, it's not just sailor_melody who's missing the whole point. the majority of players who protest against it are missing the point. it's not about whether it would work or not, nor about making neopets lose their sponsors. it's about taking realistic action to make the site a better place, not just let the glitches and freezebots roll all over us.

Well it can't be a big surprise most people don't get it. Most neopets players can't see past the end of their noses. I glaced over at neoextreme and most idiots who read the day of action post were whining about it made their brain hurt because it was so long to read.

I've never been frozen, but if I had been, I would not participate. I know I'm going to get yelled at for this, but it's just an online game. It's fun for a while, but nothing to get completely obsessed about.

I, for one, won't yell at you. Everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion about the game.

And, I really appreciate the fact that you were able to disagree with those of us who are taking part in the protest without "bashing" us for doing so. Thanks.

I was completely obsessed for a while, but then the site started to change, and it lost its appeal to me. Not sure why.

I see the most this gets is maybe an address in the News, but even that is doubtable considering what shroomy said. But go ahead if it's what you believe in (ug... how corney did that just sound?)

I, for one, am not participating. Neopets is fine and although I fear loosing things to glitches, I understand that glitches will happen and I don't blame the people at Neopets or the fact that they are trying to keep the site free with sponsers. I wouldn't be mad at them for not giving me a glitched item back because I understand how hard that actually is. Should they maybe have a better customer service department and hire more people specifically for that job? Sure. But even if they don't, the site is still good.

You think Neopets is bad for customer service.... I doubt their sponsers will read a quarter of the letters you guys are sending.

Having worked in customer relations for awhile, my guess is that they will read all of the letters--Neopets might not read them, but their sponsors will. The sponsors are paying Neopets money to advertise on the site--no sponsor wants to shell out their money if the public perception of the site goes sour. And perhaps you haven't read a copy of the June 28th issue of Time Magazine, but the article in it is extremely anti-Neopets.

Quote from the article: "Fueling that growth is Dohring's advertising pitch, which has attracted some major, if reticent, clients. Disney, General Mills and Universal Pictures, contacted by TIME to discuss their business with Neopets, declined to comment. Asked about McDonald's association with the site, Kathy Pyle, the fast-food company's director of kids' marketing, said, "McDonald's wants to be integrated into the online experience. We have been doing it for entertainment purposes, not directly selling." McDonald's, however, is offering Neopets toys in Happy Meals, cross-promoted on the site.

Sounds to me like the sponsors might not be too happy with Neopets right now. Perfect time, if you ask me, to write them a letter about the problems with Neopets.

Here's a link to the article if anyone cares to read it: http://www.time.com/time/magazine/artic ... -3,00.html

Sorry, I didn't mean that I thought people were silly to participate, I just think that it appears to be a big deal out of nothing.

To me, it looks like the people taking part writing to sponsers or whatever are trying to jeapodize a multimillion pound corporation because their online, meaningless account was destroyed. It seems petty.

This is NOT an attack on a person, and anyone who takes it that way, well thats up to them. I'm just trying to argue my point without offending anyone.

I beg to differ. If a person spends their valuable free time playing a game, then the time spent isn't meaningless, nor is the account that they create during that time.

Saying our accounts are meaningless is the same as saying all of the books you have read are meaningless, all of the sports you have played are meaningless, whatever you do with your free time is meaningless.

Yes, but I mean meaningless in the face of a corporation like Mcdonalds, or Neopets Inc or whatever. Your account isn't worth trying to jeopodize their million pound contracts. Sorry, I just can't see that as right.
