Hey,
Im new to this forum so I dont really know much about the way it works or anything so please forgive me if I make a mistake.

Anyways I wanted to ask a question relating Neopets.
I recently used to play Neopets alot, but about a month ago, my PC crashed & I had to reformat everything so I lost nearly everything. Then when the guy who sold us our PC came over to fix it , he installed PC-Cillin 2004 & Zone Alarm, both containing Firewalls. Now everytime I try to buy something from the neopets shops or feed my pets, it says " Error: If you KEEP getting this error chances are you have some security settings enabled which aren't letting you play neopets correctly", or something around those lines. Could anybody please tell me how to fix this, Is it my firewalls, security settings or what? Because I really want to play normally like I used to.

Thanx

I think you need to take your firewall down. Thats what I've heard anyway.

Hmm, well if you use IE go into your tools (or settings if you use something like aol) and look at your security setting. If it's on High, bring it down a little. High security basically won't allow any cookies to be stored which could be why you're getting that.

And it could be the firewalls (you have TWO firewalls? yikes). I don't know really how to set those, but I think you should have an option somewhere of sites that are safe that you can type in to allow that site/cookies. I know Norton can have a problem with Neo.

So, you could disable your firewalls while you're on Neo, and I would also write to support and tell them what you've got installed on your computer. They may just have a good answer and if they do, they'll send you instructions.

Last thing, and this sounds really silly, but check your computer clock/calendar. If the date and/or time is wrong, it will prevent you from using Neopets properly.

if it's Zone Alarm Pro that he installed that is what you problem is, you can either disable it (is what I use to do) or read the help files on allowing neopets as a safe site (I Never figured that one out sorry).

In Zone Alarm, go to the privacy settings, find neopets on the site list (or add it if needed) and go to options, uncheck the box that says "Remove Private Header Information." That should solve the problem.

I used to have that problem. If your computer is on cable or DSL, there's nothing you can do, but if you run dial-up, there's no reason to even use it, because hackers only hit broadband users. It's your firewall.
