Cloud Hissi :) I don't usually like cloud pets but...I like this rather a lot. Still hoping for some redraws soon though!

They recoloured red.
If you zoom in on it, you can see some red pixels.

That's a shame that they couldn't be bothered with redrawing it instead of recolouring. Still, i'm really impressed since I hate cloud pets so much. Now I don't know if I'll put my hissi up for adoption or not.

It would be a bit more than tolerable if the underbelly was white. I've always hated how they use those two clashing shades of blue for cloud pets.

o_O You can SEE the red?

Makes me wonder if they used Flash to create their pets as opposed to Adobe Illustrator. ^^; In illustrator, there is a really easy option to change your entire colour to another one by a simple click.

But knowing that TNT is like 100000x more capable at art then I'll ever be, makes me wonder why they did that (and also how they work with their art programs o_O)

i always notice dumb little imperfections with that. i dont see any on the left pose, but on the defending pose, without zooming i can clearly see some red on the edge of the tail, on IT'S right wing (we see it on the left) and right under his eye. yup. they should just have a big template and color it everytime.. i dont see why they dont just do that.... it'd be easier!

I don't see why the can't use adobe illustrator. Changing colors is a snap like chibizoo said. Oh well. Still makes me wonder what program they use to draw their art. I sent in a question to the editorial and the ideas form, but never got an answer.

Some people think they use photoshop.

They most likely use a mixture of programs. Because each program normally offers a range of different skills. Using only one would be kinda stupid IMO. Especially since they can definately afford their own copy of Adobe.

I don't see anything wrong with using more than one program. I'm just suggesting one that can change colors easily. For example they can make their color fill templates in adobe illustrator, change the base colors by creating swatches, and then export it to photoshop to add in the details like clouds, etc. That way there wouldn't be any holes in the color.

That is unless they don't use the edit paths option and have like 50 different sub-layers to select :P

I use a blend of programs too. Some of the ones I use are Adobe Photoshop, Adobe illustrator, and Paintshop Pro. Sometimes I start in illustrator and finish in photoshop, and sometimes go back and rework it in illustrator too.

Yeah, I agree with you guys about the mixture of programs. I think a lot of their thicker lineart works are with Flash and some of the really detailed stuff (like wallpapers, etc) with multiple shading layers done with Adobe Illustrator. I do know they use those two cause I read it somewhere on Neopets once (what programs they used - not sure if they ONLY use those anymore)

And yeah, the best of both worlds is always good - photoshop has some neater effects like lens flare and stuff :P

On the topic of hissie colours, I'd love to see them try and do a chinese-dragon style faerie hissie. Something like this?

Image

XD; Please excuse my crappy lineart *not with it today and extremely sick* but that lineart piece I posted/drew from scratch was done on AI >.o (for those who've never used that program)

Only hopefully they're more more creative than my random horns and some hair *eyes it*

You can do pretty mcuh likewise in flash, especially if you're overwriting something as simple as the red colouring of the Hissi. Flash is great for lazy stuff like that, perfect really - makes you wonder how little attention they must be paying to what they do

I use Flash, PSP, Photoshop and Coral Painter depending on what I'm doing. And they're all awesome - usually I use the first three with occasional strangling of photoshop.

That Chinese Dragon looks awesome, perhaps that would be fitting for Royal Hissis? Coolies either way :D
