What , so now you can get in trouble for recieving expensive gifts? I wonder how Christmas will be treated? Remind me not to make any more neofriends :x

You can get in trouble for getting rare items from people? ...That makes me uneasy. I give out a random paint brush every once in awhile, but I might have to stop after seeing that warning. The last thing I would want to do is endanger my or someone else's account.

I've never seen that warning before? Wow, even giving gifts to be nice might cost you nowadays. :(

no wonder everyone is wishing for baby paint brushes in the wishing well thread over in NNV

shirley0831 has given you 檸檬慕斯茶.

That was totally random.
But 檸檬慕斯茶=Salmon Mousse Tea

That warning is really stupid. I mean, let's say a ABer buys alot of ABed items from the shops, that are R99s. Then they choose a victim, send them tons of these ABed R99 items, and wham - the victim is frozen.

Gosh, this is so so stupid... if someone actually got frozen for being given stuff - grrrr I'll just scream. :x

-nod- What happened to me. :) ._. Too bad they didn't send me a T-Tear. :P

Thyoras Tear [Super Rare - r99]

Yeah, and then a few minutes after you'd get it you'd probably be frozen. xD

I don't think that rule affects people doing random acts of kindness. First of all, they haven't used an autobuyer. Second of all, they give to various people, not the same person over and over. The email specifically says 'continously being given or sold autobought rarity 99 items for cheap', so it shouldn't be a problem to give someone a paint brush or some other rare item every now and then, when they're gained the right way.

And I think that if someone tries to get you iced by sending you lots of rarity 99 items, and you get the warning from neopets, the correct thing would be to send the items right back if you get any more. And possibly neomail a staffer and explain that you have no idea who is sending them to you and that you have begun to send them right back and that you're not benifiting from it.

I remember someone in my guild sent the leader a paint brush and got frozen right after she sent it.
So apparently sending stuff is freezable, as well.

I know this is going a little off-topic, but there is something in the T&C regarding people getting items, and I added some other things that have been getting warnings lately:

5. If you cheat on Neopets games or use cheat programs, including non-Neopets software or programs, to play the games we will freeze your account. In addition, NeoPets may freeze any other account that has directly or indirectly benefited from the use of such programs.

I bolded that last sentence. If TNT thinks someone has cheated (ab'er, autorefresher, etc. ... whatever) and they give or sell you something, yes you can be warned and/or frozen.

Personally, I don't like that. You have to be very wary if you do receive an item anymore, especially if it's from someone you don't know or barely know. Unless you're sitting next to the person, do you really have any way of knowing if someone else is cheating? No!

You can also get warned now for advertising that a pet is going to the pound (don't ask me why ... it even says on the site to let people know you're pounding a pet)

You have received an official warning from the Neopets Team for violating the Neopets Terms and Conditions. You may NOT sell, trade, give away, share or buy a Neopets account or Pets for np, money, items, or anything else. This includes giving away accounts/pets/items! To deactivate an unwanted account, go to http://www.neopets.com/remacct.phtml

And as far as people putting their pics on their lookup or petpage? Someone I know got this, not an actual "warning", but pretty close. This one I DO understand.

Be careful! Never give out personal information online to people you do not know well offline. This includes posting your picture for people to see. Please check our Safety Tips page for other ways to stay safe online: http://www.neopets.com/safetytips.phtml

And the whole avatar lending thing? No Tipping!

You have received an official warning from the Neopets Team for violating the Neopets Terms and Conditions. TIPPING IS NOT ALLOWED, PERIOD! Do not encourage other players to break our NeoRules! Do not post or encourage other players to post inappropriate words to test the message filters. This includes typing gibberish words and inappropriate words with spaces or symbols.

I have no idea what the gibberish part is.

Sigh. Isn't neopets such a fun site to be on. I mean really, could we be having any more fun? </Chandler-ness>

It wouldn't be so bad if the site had always been this way but to see it disintegrate in front of your eyes like this, to see conflicting rules everywhere you turn (post about pets going in to the pound vs be punished if you do), to be threatened with fines of real life money for breaking the t&c (great given their record for fair freezings), seeing people getting falsely frozen all the time...no wonder I don't recommend neopets to anyone any more.

Anyway, it's always great to see people being generous on neopets :) Too bad it won't be long before people are too scared to be nice :/
