This is so far from my opinion, the best books ever made. Even though the movie wan't that good, i still think this is the best series ever produced! Can't wait till' the twelth one comes out!

I dislike the series, since the plot seems so.... I don't know.... Redundant. Kids go stay with new relative. New relative is/meets/is killed by/whatever Count Olaf. Kids are usually sad. New relative.
Yup.

I don't think any of them are related very closely, they're all like "3rd cousins or the mother's half-brother, twice removed and related by marriage" even though that makes no sense.

Actually, they haven't stayed with an official guardian since book 7....And the last relative they stayed with was in book 4. Book 8 really broke it out of the formula, IMO.

It's one of those series where you just have to keep reading it.

Good series, bad, bad bad movie.

I like the fact that they are a little redundant, it emphasizes the authors writing style and its easier for younger readers to follow along. Also, some of his definations of works are rather funny.

The movie wasn't too bad, in my opinion.

The relative thing is only in the beginning, after the fifth book or so, the plot thickens. Actually, you can catch quite a few hints in some of the illustrations about VFD. The... er... whaddaya call those? The word just slipped my tongue, the For Beatrice things in the beginning are always a laugh. The little messages at the back are nice to read and sometimes fun to decode/complete.

If you look at the picture in book 7, where the harpoon hits the notebook, you can see a few words on there.

And oh, I've also read the Biography, it was, in fact, not boring. I suppose all his books are rather witty and humerous.

I love that cover on the biography that says " The luckiest kids on earth" or something like that. It's hilarious.

I like the books, but I hate how they explain every word over three sylables.

"Blah blah blah word. Word means when blah blah blah."

>.<

Gone, forever.

Eh, they're pretty good. It's neat how Lemony Snicket can turn such terrible events into a humorous story. :P I finding the books a bit repetetive, though.

I did like them a lot when reading them, I found them quite interesting in fact. I don't know what it was though, I just get bored with books too quickly and I stopped reading them half way book 5. They're still good books though, I haven't seen the movie though, I really should!

Oh I remember that! If you turn the cover, its a parady book thing saying Series of Lucky Events or something like that. And book one was the Pony Party... etc. =P

I agree, they didn't do a very good job with the movie. I DID, however, really like Jim Carry(sp?) as Count Olaf. He was really funny.
